Joe V. Lewis, 93, Webb City, entered into rest on Nov. 9, 2017 in Granby House Nursing Home, following an extended illness.
Joe was born April 1, 1924 in Boulder City, the son of George L. and Ora (Thompson) Lewis. He served his country in the U.S. Army, 1944-1946. Joe was a lifelong area resident and had worked at W.R. Grace in Duenweg and then worked at Vickers as a machinist, where he retired. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and being outdoors.
Joe is preceded in death by his wife, Shirley, on May 3, 1988. He is survived by three sons, Larry J. Lewis and wife, Shyrl of Neosho; John Lewis of Anderson and Dale Lewis of Granby; one brother, Johnny Lewis of Stella; three sisters, Marlene Sanders of Granby; Darlene Laughlin of Stella and Georgia Lee Wisely of Arkansas; seven grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. In addition to his wife and parents, he is preceded in death by a son, Michael Lewis and daughter, Pam Armstrong.
A memorial visitation for Joe Lewis will be held on Wed. evening, Nov. 15, 2017 from
5 – 7 pm at the Clark Funeral Home, Granby.
