Thomas F. Dabbs, 81, passed away November 24, 2017 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. Tom was born April 1, 1936 in Reeds, Missouri to Joseph Fern Dabbs and Addie Crystal “Stansbury” Dabbs. He was a lifetime resident of the Carthage Area, served in the U.S. Navy from 1956 to 1962 and was stationed aboard the U.S.S. Oriskany. Tom worked at Southwestern Bell Telephone for 30 years, from which he retired, and was a member of the Center Creek Social Club and a member of VFW Post #2590 in Carthage.
Tom was united in marriage to Mary Jean “Moore” on July 21, 1961 in Joplin, Missouri; she survives.
Tom is also survived by three daughters: Debbie Dietz (Troy), Terri Dabbs (Duane Ducote) both of Carthage and Connie Shields (Vic) of Reeds, along with nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at Ulmer Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday, November 27, 2017 at Ulmer Funeral Home. Burial will be at Park Cemetery.
