Clay Hart, 52, Neosho, entered into rest on Jan. 2, 2018 at Freeman Neosho ER, following an extended illness.
Clay was born Aug. 22, 1965 in Greer, South Carolina and moved to the Neosho area in 1979 from Georgia. He worked as plant manager for George’s at Butterfield, MO and then at LaRue Telephone Company in telecommunications. He loved to sing, play pool, and watch the Kansas City Chiefs and he loved his family and friends. He loved his Lord and Savior and was an incredible warrior for Christ and an inspiration to those around him throughout his health struggles. He was an incredible and inspiring man who cherished his wife’s heart. He was a member of the Crossroads Baptist Church.
Clay and Lisa (McEntire) were married on June 7, 2014 in Stella and she survives. Additional survivors include his parents, Bob and Mona Hart of Neosho; his adopted mother, Dorothy McEntire; three children, Tabitha Michelle Hart and Cordell Lewis Hart of Rensselaer, IN and Kearstin Marie Hart of the home; four step children, Kyler Anthony Ferguson of Cassville; Brandi Lynch and husband, Aaron of Kentucky; Justin Powell and wife, Tamsen and Joshua Powell and wife, Sara all of Alabama; two brothers by choice, Malcolm Dwain McEntire and wife, Joyce of West Plains, MO and David Brian McEntire and wife, Holly of Pineville and six grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Rev. George E. and Audrey Wood; paternal grandparents, Leon and Ruth Millikin and Aubrey and Helen Hart and special friend, Doran McEntire.
Funeral services for Clay will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2018 at 1 pm at the Splitlog Baptist Church, Pastor Roger Morey will officiate. Interment will follow in the Macedonia Cemetery and those serving as pallbearers will be Josh Powell, Justin Powell, Matthew McEntire, Michael McEntire, Kyler Ferguson and Cordell Hart. Friends may call at the Clark Funeral Home, Neosho on Monday from 9 am until 7 pm and the family will receive friends at a time of visitation Monday evening from 5:30 to 7 pm at the funeral home.
