Mary E. Rausch-Smith, age 96 of Webb City, Missouri passed away Saturday December 30, 2017 following a decline in health.
She was born May 5, 1921 in Webb City, Missouri to Tan and Misha (Thompson) Benintendi.
Mary worked for Big Smith as a seamstress and then worked as a clerk for Bruner Pharmacy. She enjoyed flowers and loved candles. She was a regular contributor to several different charities. Her family was very important to her and she loved them all.
She married Mike Rausch and he preceded her in death. She later married Earl Smith and he also preceded her in death. Mary was also preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Jeanne Rausch Smith, two brothers, Bob and Ralph Benintendi, one sister, Marge McAdams, as well as two other sisters, and two granddaughters, Chandra Rausch Young, Stephanie Rausch.
Mary is survived by two sons, Charles Rausch, Elbert Rausch, six grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 12 great great grandchildren as well as numerous extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Thursday January 4, 2018 at the Hedge-Lewis-Goodwin Funeral Home with Pastor Dan Toney officiating. Burial will follow at the Carterville Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6:00 – 7:00 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
Those gentlemen honoring her life by serving as pallbearers are, Mike Smith, Steve Smith, Rick Rausch, Logan Rausch, Steve Smith, and Mark Chancellor.
In lieu of flowers contributions are requested to Easter Seals and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
