(From Parker Mortuary)Roiann Luciene Watkins, age 75, Joplin, passed away on Wednesday, March 2, 2022.
Roiann was born March 14, 1946 in Chanute, Kansas, daughter of the late Paul and Maude Hummer. She grew up in Parsons and Chanute, Kansas, and graduated from L.L.C. High School. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who enjoyed crocheting, and listening to gospel music. She was a member of First Christian Church of Galena, and sang in the church choir, and also was known for her excellent voice when she did special music for church services. She loved being with family and will be greatly missed by many.
In addition to her parents, Roiann was preceded in death by a son, Robert Lewis; brothers, Larry Hummer, Wesley Hummer, and Glen Hummer; and a granddaughter, Chanelle Williams.
She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Watkins; sons, Tom Watkins of Joplin, Tim Lewis and wife Brenda England-Lewis also of Joplin, Paul Lewis of Noel, Missouri, Richard Lewis of Quapaw, Oklahoma, and Joe Naugle of South Greenville, Missouri; sister, Deborah Dollison and husband Dean also of South Greenville; 14 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Galena First Christian Church with Pastor David Schepper officiating.
