(From Ulmer Funeral Home)Janis McGuill, 86, passed away Friday, June 3, 2022 in Carthage, Missouri. Janis was born April 5, 1936 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Fred Williams and Vivian Dunlap. She retired as the Deputy City Clerk in Carthage.
Janis attended the United Methodist Church in Carthage. She loved her family deeply and enjoyed her word searches a lot!
Janis was united in marriage to John McGuill on July 6, 1954; he preceded her in death in February 2010.
Janis is survived by her two daughters, Jennifer “Jenny” Barksdale and husband, Bill and Polly Wallace and husband, David; five grandchildren, John Barksdale, Brenna Barksdale (Barry McCoy), Beth Barksdale, Grace Mott and husband, Dalton and Oliver Wallace; and one great grandchild, Hazel Mae Mott.
Janis is preceded in death by her husband, John; her parents, Fred and Vivian Williams; and her sister, Mary Sue Farley.
Graveside services will be held 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 11, 2022 at Park Cemetery in Carthage, Missouri.
Contributions may be made to Special Olympics Missouri or the Carthage Police Children’s Party in care of Ulmer Funeral Home.
