(From Knell Mortuary)Eleanor I. McDonald, 88, of Carthage Missouri, passed away March 1, 2023. Eleanor was born June 3, 1935, in Rule, Texas, to the late Emmett and Fay (Dyer) Offill. Eleanor married Claude R. McDonald on February 10, 1964, in Miami, Oklahoma. Claude passed away on December 23, 2012. Eleanor worked at Morrow Mill, Montgomery Wards, Brown Furniture Company, and Country Pride as a payroll clerk.
She is survived by two brothers, Ralph Offill, Columbus, Kansas, and Alvis (Myrna) Offill, McCloud, Oklahoma; one stepdaughter, Rae Dene (Craig) Bryson; two step granddaughters, Chelle (Andy) Eby, and Crystal (Christopher) Whitesell; and six step great-grandchildren, Noah Eby, Hannah Eby, Jonah Eby, Olivia Whitesell, Sophi Whitesell, and Eli Whitesell.
She was a charter member of the Leawood Church of Christ, Leawood/Joplin, Missouri. Her hobbies after retirement included accompanying her husband to frequent car shows with various classic cars, gardening, walking, and attending grandchildren/great-grandchildren events.
A private family interment was held Monday, March 6, 2023, in Park Cemetery, Carthage. A memorial visitation will be held 2:00-3:00 pm, Sunday, March 26, 2023, at Knell Mortuary, Carthage.
