(From Parker Mortuary)Jeffery Frank Schellinger, age 54, of Joplin, passed away on Saturday, March 4, 2023 at his home.
Jeffery, son of the late George and Dora (Burnett) Schellinger, was born on October 19, 1968, in Pineville, LA. He grew up and lived most of his life in Louisiana until moving to the Joplin area as a self-employed independent paint and tile contractor, after the 2011 Joplin Tornado.
Jeff enjoyed his work and loved to make others laugh. It was impossible not to smile when in his presence. He enjoyed collecting things and making the old things new. He loved spending time with his family and was an avid outdoorsman.
Survivors include his son, Andrew Buffington, and his wife, Kamarah, of Joplin; one grandson, Preston Buffington, of Joplin; two sisters, Deborah Griffin, and her husband, Bo, of Leesville, LA, and Dianna Drennin, and her husband, J.J., of Mamon, LA; his partner, Stormie Reed, of Joplin; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Private family committal of ashes will take place at a later date in Louisiana.
Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin.
