Paula Brite

Paula Ruth Brite, age 72, of Wentworth, MO passed away on Tuesday, March 7, 2023, at Communities of Wildwood Ranch in Joplin, MO. 

She was born in Carthage, MO on Saturday, August 5, 1950; daughter of Paul Richard "Dick" and Hazel (Grant) Masters. She graduated from Carthage High School in 1968 and graduated from MSSC in Joplin in 1970. 

Paula married James E. (Jim) Brite on July 3, 1971. Mrs. Brite drove a school bus for about 38 years for the Pierce City School District and worked as a para for that same school for 9 years. She touched many lives over those years.

Mrs. Brite enjoyed horseback riding, square dancing, traveling, and making quilts to give away. She liked working in her yard, especially growing flowers. Her many pets were special to her as well. Mrs. Brite moved from town to the country to become a country girl. She never looked back. Her heart, her life, and her soul belonged in the country. She was a member of the Sarcoxie United Methodist Church (now Church of God’s Grace) and supported any mission that benefited children. She served several years on the board of the Sarcoxie Senior Center.

Surviving are her church family, neighbors, and many, many friends who will miss her so much. She was welcomed to heaven by her parents, Dick and Hazel Masters; and her husband, Jim.

Friends may visit Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City, MO on Wednesday, March 15, 2023, from 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM. A Celebration of Life will follow with Pastor James Yost officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given for the Church of God's Grace in Sarcoxie, MO.
