(From Derfelt Funeral Home)Aleta Jean Sanders, age 77, went home to be with the Lord at 5:18 am, Wednesday, January 21, 2026 at her home following an illness.
Aleta was born March 12, 1948 in Joplin, Missouri. Her parents were Clinton LeRoy and Barbara Jean (Armer) Wade. She was a lifetime resident of Galena.
She attended Galena Schools. She worked in data collection for area hospitals for 35 years. She last worked for Mercy Hospital, retiring in 2014.
Aleta was an active member of First Baptist Church, Galena, KS. She had attended there since birth. She was a musician and played the accordion during worship services. Her favorite pastime was her daily telephone conversations with her sister.
Aleta was married to Danny Sanders April 10, 1965 in Galena, KS. He survives of the home.
Additional survivors include two sons, Daniel Sanders (Carina Ling Qi), Magma, UT and Jeffrey Sanders (Jenny), Frisco, TX; one brother, Tom Wade (Lisa), Galena; one sister, Rebecca Stillions (Bill), Joplin, MO; four grandchildren, Maddy, Joshua, Alexander and Andrew.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Rob, Alan and Alvin Wade.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm, Monday, January 26, 2026 at First Baptist Church, Galena, KS. Pastor Aaron Polok and Charlie Idleman will officiate. Private burial will be held later in Hill Crest Cemetery, Galena, KS.
