(From Derfelt Funeral Home)Ruby Irene (Crabtree) Williams, age 70 of Baxter Springs, KS passed from this life on Sunday, January 18, 2026 at Mercy Hospital, Joplin, MO.
Ruby was born January 21, 1955 in Salina, Kansas to the union of Harry Benton and Vivian Lee (Jackson) Crabtree, Ruby was united in marriage to John Wesley Williams, Sr. on November 6, 1971 in Webb City, MO. Ruby enjoyed spending quality time with her family and friends. She was a member of the American Veterans Post #12 of Mexia, TX. Ruby had spent time as a housekeeping supervisor in the nursing home setting.
Ruby is preceded in death by her parents; Harry Benton Crabtree and Vivian Lee Cox; husband, John Wesley Williams, SR; son, Billy Williams; sister, Sharlene Hawes; grandsons, Freddy Williams, and Wes Williams; great grandson, Luke Collins; along time special companion, Bert Mains.
Ruby is survived by her children, Denise Bishop, Sharon West (Mike), Connie Turner (Jim), Donna Brown (Jay), James Williams, Sr., Tommy Williams (Jenniffer), Amy Carey (JR), Mary Cole (Mark); siblings, John W. Williams, JR., (Linda), Jenny Abernathy, and Pam Reynolds; 20 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 23, 2026 at Derfelt’s Baxter Chapel. Pastor Ray Clonts will officiate. Following the services Ruby has been entrusted to Derfelt’s Baxter Chapel for cremation. Online condolences may be expressed at www.derfeltfuneralhomes.com.
