(From Midland Cremation Society)Donna Sue Baker, 70, of Joplin, Missouri, passed away on January 22, 2026, surrounded by love and cherished memories.
Donna was a woman who left an impression everywhere she went. She had a gift for making people laugh, turning strangers into friends, and lighting up any room with her stories, humor, and unmistakable spirit. Whether she was enjoying a margarita, sipping her favorite sweet tea, or sharing a laugh, Donna knew how to live life fully and joyfully.
Her greatest pride and deepest love was her family — especially her grandchildren. Being a grandmother was her favorite and most treasured role, and she embraced being a great-grandmother with just as much love, excitement, and devotion. Her family was the heart of her world, and her love for them will forever be felt.
Donna is survived by her sons Justin Pryor (Tannia), Ryan Baker (Jessica), and Levi Zuber (Elizabeth).
Her grandchildren include Christian, Kevin, Isabel, Lillianna, Kara, Kayln (Brandan), Kaleb (Keeley), Craig, Blayde, Luke, Kyle, and Mila.
She is also survived by her great-grandchildren Corah, Kimber, Easton, and Kollyns, each of whom brought her immense pride and happiness.
Donna was endlessly proud of her three sons — Justin, Ryan, and Levi — and loved them with fierce, unconditional devotion. She admired their strength, celebrated their accomplishments, and stood beside them through every season of life. Being their mother was one of her greatest joys, and her love, guidance, humor, and unwavering support will continue to live on through them.
She is also lovingly remembered by her best friends of over 50 years, Kathy D. and Martha B., whose lifelong friendship meant the world to her.
Donna was preceded in death by her adoptive mother Cleo Peebles, her mother Virginia (Ginny) Daniels, and other beloved family members who welcomed her home.
In her everyday life, Donna found joy in the simple things — watching birds, feeding squirrels, loving cats, and caring for every animal she encountered. She worked in various places throughout her life, forming friendships everywhere she went, and she liked making her monthly donations to the reservations.
Donna’s legacy lives on in the laughter she inspired, the love she gave, the stories she told, and the countless lives she touched. She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
"What we once enjoyed and deeply loved we can never lose, for all that we love deeply becomes a part of us,"
A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date so friends and family can come together to remember and honor Donna.
