Art Prier

(From Parker Mortuary)

It is with heartfelt sorrow that we announce the passing of Art "Ozzy" Prier, who went to glory on July 8, 2025, after a brief illness. Born on September 13, 1954, in Springfield, Missouri, to Joan Hicks and Wesley Prier, Art lived a life full of love, adventure, and faith.

Art married his beloved Cami on February 14, 1974, and together they shared 51 wonderful years. He is survived by his wife Cami; his son Quentin; his bonus daughter, Janyce; his grandchildren Maddox, Jasmine, Harley and Cory-Dawn; six great-grandchildren; his brother Chris; nephews Andy and Ben; and niece, Bethany.

Art was preceded in death by his mother, Joan Hicks; his father, Wesley Prier; and his brother Jerry Prier.

A passionate motorcyclist, Art was a member of the Covenant Motorcycle Ministry: Chapter 0702, spreading the word of Christ to others with dedication and joy. His work life included serving as a CNC operator for FAG Bearings before he retired.

Art was a true "cat daddy," spending his time rescuing and caring for numerous cats throughout his life. He would be overjoyed if donations were made in his memory to the Joplin Humane Society.

Art’s legacy of kindness, faith, and love will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
