(From Clark Funeral Home)It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Charles Laverne Fitch (Papa Charlie), who departed this life peacefully on Saturday, June 28, 2025 at the age of 95.
He was born on November 5, 1929 to Monroe and Alma (Sapp) Fitch in Quapaw, OK. He married Marie Maxine Lewis on January 1, 1951 in Ontario, OR. Charles proudly served in the United States Army and Air Force. He fought in the Korean War and Vietnam War before retiring after 20 years of service. Charles loved fishing, camping, doing puzzles, reading and watching westerns, and smoking cigars. He had a large family that will greatly miss him.
It doesn’t matter what you needed, even if it was just someone to talk to, he was always there to share your heartache, joy and laughter.
He is survived by his daughter’s Sharon Yarrington (Hot Springs, AR.), Carma Rogers (Neosho, MO.) and Cindy (Joey) Simpson (Goodman, MO.); Grandchildren Matt (Meredith) Yarrington (Hot Springs, AR.), Crystal (Petrihno) Dolon (Neosho, MO.), Pam (Garrett) Sternes (Granby, MO.), Heather Fitch (Neosho, MO.), and Chasity Middleton (Neosho, MO.); 19 Great-Grandchildren and 25 Great-Great-Grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his son, Louis Fitch; daughters, Lois Fikes and Jeanie Fitch; grandson, Christopher Straughn and great-grandson William Straughn.
