(From Paul Thomas Funeral Home)Gary Bert Jenkins of Miami, OK passed from this life Friday, July 4, 2025 at Freeman Hospital in Joplin, MO. He was 78.
Gary was born February 16, 1947 in Macon, GA to Robert and Ruby Pearl (Varnadoe) Jenkins. He had lived in Miami since 1983, moving from Douglas, GA. He served in the United States Army during Vietnam.
He had worked as a mechanic for the Phillips 66 Station in Miami, OK. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Miami, OK.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Crystal King.
Gary is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Ann Jenkins of the home, 4 sons, Jason Lee Jenkins and his wife Kim of Newcastle, WY, John Jenkins and his wife Francis Bennett of Miami, OK, Jamie Jenkins and his wife Taloa of Broken Arrow, OK and Jason Don Jenkins of Sapulpa, OK, 7 daughters, Lisa Jo Robinson of Sumter, SC, Marcie Driver and her husband Ted of Sumter, SC, Jennifer Johnson and her husband Ryan of Newcastle, WY, Jeanette Ellison of Phoenix, AZ, Joyce Monsanto and her husband Steve of Webb City, MO, Jessica Johnson of Miami, OK and Jacqueline Jenkins and her fiance David Furtges of Eureka, IL, 1 sister, Susan Jenkins of Macon, GA, 33 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6 - 8 p.m. at Paul Thomas Funeral Home in Miami, OK. A Celebration of Gary's life will be at a later date.
