(From Buchanan Funeral Home)John Richard Cutburth, age 73, of Monett, passed from this life on Friday morning, July 4, 2025 at his home with family by his side.
John was born on April 29, 1952 in Java, Indonesia, son of the late Perry and Sheila (Stapler) Cutburth.
John had a wonderful life that started in Java, Indonesia and ended in Monett, MO. He loved the farm life in his younger years where he began his family. He then became a pit supervisor for P&M Coal Mine and went on to study at Arkansas Bible College and worked many years as a pastor. His hobbies were gliders, woodworking, gardening, bread making, loving his family and Bible study. John is now in heaven where he is fully healed and walking the streets of gold.
On July 24, 1971 in Pittsburg, KS, John Cutburth married Debbie Thomlison. They enjoyed fifty-three years of making precious memories together.
John is survived by his wife, Debbie of the home; two daughters, Tammy Cutburth of Monett and Trisha Hughes and husband Cole of Joplin, MO; one daughter-in-law, Christy Cutburth of Independence, MO; six grandchildren, Aaron, Ashley, Aleesa, David, Xander and Caleb; one great grandchild, Wrenley; one brother, James Cutburth and wife Paula of Hillsboro, OR; and a host of extended family and friends.
John is preceded in death by his son, John R. Cutburth II.
Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 7, 2025 at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church southeast of Monett with Pastor Tony Martin officiating. Inurnment will be in the Bird Cemetery in Pittsburg, KS at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Buchanan Funeral Home, Monett, MO.
