(From Knell Mortuary)Melissa Lynn Carpenter passed away peacefully on July 3, 2025, in Joplin, Missouri, at the age of 55. Born on August 21, 1969, in Carthage, Missouri, the daughter of the late Harold and Mary Louise (Garrison) Myers. Melissa's gentle spirit and warm heart touched the lives of all who knew her.
Melissa's life was a testament to the power of love and family. She was a devoted mother to her children, Angel Delcour-Scott (Jonathan) of Sarcoxie, Missouri, Felicia Myers of Joplin, Missouri, and Chris Myers (Michelle) of Lamar, Missouri. Her significant other, Scott Wilson, stood by her side, sharing in the joys and challenges of life.
Melissa was a cherished sister to Harold Myers (Lisa) and David Myers (Summer), both of Carthage, Missouri, Bill King (Becky) of Kansas City, Missouri, and Donna Passalacqua (Chris) of Salem, Missouri. Her eleven grandchildren, who were the light of her life, will miss her deeply. Melissa was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Jennifer Myers.
Before dedicating her life to her family as a homemaker, Melissa served her community with pride as a Certified Nursing Assistant. Her time spent caring for others in various nursing homes in the area was a source of great pride and fulfillment. Melissa's nurturing nature found its true calling in this role, where she provided comfort and care to those in need. Melissa's interests were centered around her family, especially her grandchildren, who were everything to her. She created a world of love and laughter for them, and her legacy will live on through the cherished memories they hold.
