(From Daniel Funeral Home)William (Bill) Thomas Phipps Jr., age 85, passed away March 22, 2021, at his home. Bill was born to William and Nina Phipps on October 18, 1935 in Irwin, Missouri. He moved with his family to the family farm in Lamar in 1946.
Bill was united in marriage to Barbara Faye Miller on October 15, 1960. They were blessed to have celebrated 60 years together last fall. Together they built their lives on the family farm and raised three beautiful children.
Bill was a man of faith and was a member of the Lamar First Baptist Church. Bill enjoyed his Sunday School family and many other church activities, he especially enjoyed his time mowing the church yard with the mowing crew.
Bill was a farmer and sold DeKalb Seed with his Dad and raised Angus cattle. Bill was a Charter Member of Barton County Cattleman's Association, MFA Board, 30 year Board Member of Barton County Electric Cooperative, 20 year 4H Leader, Trustee at the Lamar First Baptist Church and enjoyed monthly gatherings with close friends playing cards together for over 60 years.
Bill is survived by his wife Barbara Phipps of Lamar, his daughter Belinda Shoff and her husband Dayne, his son Brock Phipps and his wife Kelly, his son Bert Phipps and his wife Shawna, his grandchildren Ciara Garfield and her husband Parker, Conner Shoff, Bryson Phipps, Karson Phipps, Jackson Phipps, Carlee Phipps, Tanner Phipps and his soon to be wife Darrah, he was also blessed with a beautiful great-granddaughter, Gracee Garfield. Bill is also survived by his sister, Joan Calvert, brother, Gary Phipps and his wife Dorothy, brother Donnie (Pogo) Phipps and his wife Ava, brother-in-law Ray Irwin and his wife Sherry.
Bill was preceded in death by both of his parents, sister Connie Phipps Irwin and brother-in-law David Calvert.
Bill's most cherished moments were spending time with his family, many memories made at the family farm, attending his grandkids sporting events, cattle shows and church activities along with the gift of gab.
Funeral service was held 2:00 PM Friday, March 26, 2021, at the Lamar First Baptist Church with burial following at Lake Cemetery in Lamar, MO.
