(From Mason-Woodard Mortuary)Surrounded by her family who loved and adored her Mable Kathleen “Kathy” Martinous, age 95 years young, passed from this life and went to be with her love of 56 years Mose and her father and mother, Richard and Mable Morris and two brothers Raymond and Dick on March 21, 2021.
Kathy was a lifelong resident of Joplin. She was a woman of great faith and was a member of the First United Methodist Church since she was 18. She will be remembered by all for her beautiful piano playing for over 50 years esp. by her Tri M class each Sunday, her delicious cooking, her ability to make anyone feel at ease and welcomed, and her gift to always see the glass half full.
She believed in and lived a life of integrity, devotion to family and friends, forgiveness, and compassion, but above all else she loved fiercely.
She is survived by her two children. Son, Richard Martinous and wife Robin and daughter, Diane Martinous, all of Joplin. She was like a second mother to her late husband’s son Raymond Martinous of Carl Junction. Grandchildren include Moses Martinous and partner Tony Eiffert of Miami, Ok. and Shannon Martinous Matos and husband Xavier of Los angles, Ca., and one great grandson Yorick Matos.
A celebration of life service will be held on Friday, March 26, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church at 4th and Byers in Joplin, Mo.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given to St. Jude in her honor.
