(From Ulmer Funeral Home)Elmer Ray Frey, 82, passed away Saturday March 27, 2021 at his home in Joplin. He was born April 2, 1938 in Carthage, MO to Elmer and Guyline (Slack) Frey. He worked at Hercules in 1964 and retired from Dyno-Nobel in 1998 where he was a nitroglycerin supervisor. Elmer was united in marriage to Theresia M. Lack on February 16, 1957 in Iola, KS
Elmer served in the United States Air Force and was a former member of the Shriners for 50 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and shooting guns. Elmer loved his family trips to the lake and most of all he loved his wife, kids, grandchildren, and great grandchildren very much and would do anything for them. He loved all of his nieces, nephews, and all of his good friends.
He is survived by his wife Theresia Frey of Carthage, Missouri; one son Michael Frey(Rebecca) of Webb City, Missouri; two daughters, Debbie Rusk of Carterville, Missouri, Connie Altman(David) of Joplin, Missouri; one brother Roger Frey of Houston, Texas; nine grandchildren, Jackie(Brandon), Brittany, Eric(Molly), Tara(Tyler), Lindsey(Scottie), Kenna(Kris), Kelsey, Lil Mike(Marilyn), Chase; and 12 great-grandchildren Reegin, Brantley, Brinley, Braylee, Owen, Griffin, Lawson, Harper, Kynlee, Knox, Leilynn, Mia.
Elmer was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters Phyllis Lewis Candiff and Barbara Gourley
A celebration of life visitation will be held from 2:00-4:00 P.M., Friday April 2, 2021 at Ulmer Funeral Home in Carthage, Missouri.
