Cecile Woodmansee

Mrs. Cecile Ann Woodmansee, 71, of Carthage, Missouri, departed this life on Thursday, March 25, 2021, at Oak Pointe in Carthage, after a recent decline in health.

Cecile entered this life on July 16, 1949, in Bell, California, born to the union of the late Samuel Charles and Mabel (McColloch) Freet. She was raised in Carl Junction and Alba, graduating from Alba High School in 1967. 


She earned her teaching degree from Missouri Southern State College in Joplin and later her Masters in Education from Southwest Missouri State in Springfield. 








On November 21, 1970, she was united in marriage to Larry Woodmansee and together they have shared the last fifty years. 

Cecile was an award-winning educator with the Webb City R-7 School District, teaching Kindergarten at Carterville Elementary for nearly thirty years. She attended worship services at Carl Junction Christian Church and was a member of Alpha Delta Kappa Teacher Sorority.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her stepfather, Chuck Barrett.

Cecile is survived by her husband, Larry Woodmansee of the home; a son, Mike Woodmansee of Indian Rocks Beach, Florida; a grandson, Jacob Erwin; a sister, Kathy Michael of Carthage; two brothers, Cecil Ward of Reeds, Missouri and Charles Barrett of Carthage; as well as a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services are 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 30, 2021 in the chapel of Hedge-Lewis-Goodwin Funeral Home in Webb City with Pastor Boyce Mouton officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Webb City. Those honoring her life by serving as pallbearers Mike Woodmansee, Scott Woodmansee, Jason Woodmansee, Jacob Erwin, Andy Ward and Mike Cook . The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 5-7:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. On-line condolences my be sent to the family through www.hedgelewis.com.
