Sharon Fischer

Sharon J. Fischer, 76, of Mindenmines, MO, died on Thursday, December 23, 2021, following a short illness at Acension Via Christi, Pittsburg, KS.

Sharon was born on January 12, 1945, in Excelsior Springs, MO, to Olene King and Joseph Tomasi.








The family moved to Pittsburg where she attended Pittsburg schools and graduated from Pittsburg High School in 1963. She married her husband of 46 years Norman G. Fischer in Pittsburg, KS, on July 3, 1963. Norman preceded her in death in 2009.

Sharon worked primarily in purchasing and inventory, retiring in 2009 from Hix Corporation in Pittsburg. Sharon spent her retirement years crafting and collecting supplies to donate to out-reach programs in the area. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by four children, Melissa Fischer of Mindenmines, MO; Jim (Maria) Fischer of Joplin, MO; Cyndi Antoni of Weir, KS; Kris (Kenda) Fischer of Pittsburg, KS; two sisters, Tami Phillips of Frontenac, KS, and Vicki (Mike) Billionis of Mindenmines, MO; ten beloved grandchildren, Jeci, Estrella, Marco, Emma, Noe, Anderson, Jasmyn, Caitlyn, Dylan, and Evan.

Sharon is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two brothers William Tomasi and Gary Tomasi.

There will be a private family burial at a later date. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday, December 30, 2021, from 12:30 - 4:30 to sign the register book. This last year Sharon really enjoyed giving back to those less fortunate and taught those around her to do the same. Memorials in honor of Sharon may be left at the funeral home or made to Mission Joplin at Forrest Park Baptist Church at 725 S. Highview Ave Joplin, MO 64801. Arrangements are under the direction of the Brenner Mortuary, 114 E. 4th St. Pittsburg, KS Pittsburg, KS.
