Jean Robertson

(From Clark Funeral Home)

Dortha ‘Jean’ Robertson, 94 of Neosho, passed away on December 22, 2021, after declining health and was received into the Arms of Jesus. ‘Well done my good and faithful servant.'

Jean was born April 29, 1927, in Wheaton, Missouri, one of nine children to Cecil and Estella (Cook) Daugherty. She graduated from Fairview High School and was a lifelong area resident.

Following her graduation from high school, she worked in Kansas City and then worked at a movie theatre on the square during Camp Crowder days. She worked with her husband, Delmar in the family CPA business and was a homemaker.

She and Delmar Robertson were married on May 24, 1947, at the First Baptist Church in Neosho and he preceded her in death on October 31, 2013. Jean was a happy and devoted wife to Del and supportive of his many business ventures.

She was a great friend and confidant to her children, always there to lend a listening ear when in need. She had a dry sense of humor, always making her grandkids laugh. She enjoyed holding the great grandkids and showing them how to patty cake and blow kisses and she loved holding hands. Jean was a wonderful cook who always wanted to ‘follow the recipe’ and was very particular, always wanting things done her way.

She loved her beauty shop appointments, watching Wheel of Fortune and always looked forward to family gatherings. She had clarity of her thoughts to the very end. Jean was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Neosho.

She is survived by three daughters, Marsha Lynn Ellis of Stark City, Susan Kay Harris of Neosho and Melanie Ann Nash of Stark City, as well as seven grandchildren, Jana Bryan, Kerry (Michael) Robertson, Daniel (Mandie) Harris, Kyle Harris, Kayla Thompson, Angela Harris and Sean Curtis; nine great grandchildren, Katelyn and Megan Pevey, Karter Harris, Cade Harris, Carson Harris, (born still), Havenleigh and Emberlee Harris, Kaydence Harris and Boston Curtis. Also surviving Jean are four brothers, Bob Daugherty, Ted Daugherty and Jerry Daugherty of Neosho; Jim Daugherty of Kansas City, Missouri and one sister, Mary Popadirk of Minneapolis, Minnesota.

In addition to her husband, Delmar, she is preceded in death by a son, Richard Robertson and daughter in law, Kathy; her parents, one brother, Jack Daugherty and two sisters, Willa Nell Goosetree and Shirley Lundstrum.

Visitation for Jean will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2021, from 1:00 to 2:00 pm at the Clark Funeral Home, Neosho. Graveside services will follow at 2:30 pm at the Neosho IOOF Cemetery.
