George Odell

George Lynn Odell, age 68, of Neosho, Missouri, passed away at 5:17 p.m. on Thursday, December 23, 2021, at Freeman West Hospital in Joplin, Missouri. He was born December 20, 1953, in Lockwood, Missouri, the son of the late George Thomas and Phyllis Rachels (Vanhoosier) Odell. 

George was a 1971 graduate of Lockwood High School and worked for American Fibrex in Joplin, retiring after 40 years of service as a forklift driver. 








George’s passion was raising limousine cows, which he did in the Neosho community for over 40 years. He loved doing puzzles of all sorts and watching sports on TV, especially the St. Louis Cardinals.

George is survived by his sister, Marie Tucker of Neosho; one nephew, Tim Kelly and his wife, Terri of Deunweg, Missouri; great-niece, Kendra (Ryan) Schacht; great-nephew, Kristopher (Jamie) Kelly; and three great-great-nephews, Jonathon, Eric, and Dezmond; and great-great-niece, Amalee.

In addition to his parents, his sister, Phyllis Ann Kelly, and his brother, Warren Odell, preceded him in death.

Under the direction of the Clark Funeral Home in Neosho, a private graveside service is to be held at Macedonia Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital c/o Clark Funeral Home, PO Box 66, Neosho, Missouri, 64850.
