(From Parker Mortuary)Laken Kyle Murdock, age 14, Joplin, passed away on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at his home.
Laken was born November 13, 2007 in Joplin, and was attending Martin Luther School where he was currently in 8th grade. He enjoyed reading Fantasy Novels, writing short stories, and playing Minecraft with friends. He had just gotten into Karate, and subsequently was into lifting weights.
He was a very smart young man, and was known for his sense of humor, and acting silly and goofy with friends and family. He will be greatly missed by many.
Laken was preceded in death by his grandmother, Pamela Murdock.
Survivors include his parents, Kyle Murdock (Shelley) and mother, Kristina Dines; brother, Tyler Bowers; sister, Katie Murdock; grandparents, Jeff (Mary Sue) Murdock, Mike (Wanda) Judah, and Wayne (Sue) Murdock; and a host of extended family and many friends.
Funeral service will be held Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. in Parker Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Gregory Mech officiating. Interment will follow at Osborne Memorial Cemetery with Kyle Murdock, Jay Judah, David Clymer, Tyler Bowers, Cory Murdock, Jake Murdock and Jeff Wilson serving as pallbearers.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church care of Parker Mortuary.
