Debra Land

Mrs. Debra Louis (Banks) Land, 63 of Neosho, Missouri departed this life on Saturday, May 28, 2022, at Freeman Neosho Hospital in Neosho.

Debra was born July 25, 1958, in Barry County to Floyd and Hattie (Hendrix)Banks. She grew up in the Jane and Anderson area. She worked at Crowder Industries for 40 years. 

Debra married Randy Land on June 20, 1980, in Anderson, MO. She and Randy lived in Anderson until moving to Medicalodge.








Debra was preceded in death by her husband Randy on April 8, 2019, her parents, two brothers; Freddie and Joe Banks and three sisters; Imogene Delmont, Virginia Akehurst and Glenda Lowe.

Debra is survived by sisters; Leta Miller and husband Wayne of Clarksville, TN, LaVon O’Brien of Bella Vista, AR, Carolyn Wilmoth and husband Earl of Cleveland, TX, Trudy Hill and husband Carlos of Cypress, TX as well as host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends. She loved her family and friends and never wanted anyone mad at her. A special thank you to all her caregivers, thanks to all for loving our Debbie She was Special.

Funeral services for Mrs. Debra Louis Land will be held Friday, June 3, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. in the Ozark Funeral Home in Anderson, MO with Pastor Fred Mills officiating. Burial will follow in the Anderson Cemetery in Anderson, MO. 

Those honoring her life by serving as pallbearers will be Greg Akehurst, Luke Akehurst, Tyler Ayotte, Ronnie Mitchell, Carlos Hill, and Earl Wilmoth. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Friday.

Millie Larson

Millie Vonciel Larson, age 84, of Seligman, Missouri, went home to be with her beloved Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday, May 30, 2022, at Nixa Nursing and Rehab in Nixa, Missouri. Daughter of Aubrey and Gertie (Pollard) Stone, Millie was born on January 7, 1938, in Coats, North Carolina. 

In 1954, she married James Ervin Laron in South Carolina, and together they built a fulfilling and happy life until his passing on Thursday, April 28, 2022.






 

Millie enjoyed watching soap operas and drinking diet Pepsi, but her greatest joy came from watching her grandchildren, who were her pride and joy. Millie was a good Christian woman who loved and believed in God with all her heart, she will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her.

Survivors include her five children, Daniel Larson, of Seligman, Rodney Larson, of Washburn, Roger Larson of Pineville, Missouri, Jody Larson and his wife Nancy, of Cassville, and Jason Larson, and his wife Christie, of Nixa, Missouri; twelve grandchildren; several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; one sister, Peggy (Stone) Arnold, of Raleigh, North Carolina; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Aubrey and Gertie (Pollard) Stone, and husband, James Ervin Larson, Millie was preceded in death by one son, Dennis Larson; three brothers, Bruce Stone, Larry Stone, and Donnie Stone; and one sister, Violene Matthews.






 

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 am. on Saturday, June 4, 2022, at the New Salem Baptist Church in Seligman.

A private family burial will be held at the Fayetteville National Cemetery at a later date.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of White Funeral Home & Crematory, Cassville, Missouri.

Henry Cosby

Henry R. Cosby was born May 3, 1929 and entered into rest on May 29, 2022 at the age of 93. 

Henry served his country in the U.S. Army during WW II and the Korean conflict. He worked at Teledyne, Neosho as an engineer until his retirement. 








He enjoyed doing genealogy and was a wonderful gardener and shared the fruits of his labors with many. He was a member of the Granby Ward LDS Church. 

Henry and Peggy Lee Hensley were married in 1987 and Peggy survives. 

Additionally, Henry is survived by ten children and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Marvin Wescott

Marvin R. Wescott formerly of Carthage passed away 10:22 Saturday evening May 28, 2002. Marvin was born to Elvis Wescott Sr. and Margurite Wescott(Hamilton) on July 7, 1937 in Carthage Mo.

Marvin was a longtime Jasper County resident. He worked for the Division of Employment Security for several years before retiring in 1998. 









Some of Marvin's favorite pastimes were square-dancing and a occasional casino trip. He also enjoyed football,bowling and boxing.

Marvin married Fern O'Dell Pippin on Sept. 17,1977 in Carthage Mo. she survives.

Additional survivors would include one daughter, Cathy Hayes(Chet) of Kimberling City Mo.
One brother, Gary Wescott Carthage MO. Two sisters Velma and Lois. Three grandchildren Kristen Martin(Scott), Jason Benward(Darcy), Meggie Etris(Josh). Eight great grandchildren Sam Martin, Ben Martin, Zac Martin, Nova Etris, Charley Benward, Maverick Etris, Harrison Benward, Cooper Benward.








Marvin was preceded in death by one son Reggie Pippin in 2014, one granddaughter Reggina Pippin in 1988. Two brothers Steve Wescott, Elvis Wescott Jr. and one sister Carolyn Payne.

Graveside services will be held 3:00 p.m. Thursday June 2, 2022 at Weaver Cemetery Oronogo Mo.

Stephanie Hymiller

Stephanie A. Hymiller, 43, of Pineville, Missouri, departed this life on Tuesday, May 24, 2022.

Stephanie entered this life on Friday, September 29, 1978, in Monterey, California, born to William Duncan and Shirley Duncan. 

On October 3, 1998, she was united in marriage to Robert Lee Hymiller. Together they shared three wonderful years together, before his passing on June 2, 2001.








Stephanie was a proud mother of four children. It was often said that she never met a stranger. She was a kind and giving woman. It didn’t matter who you were, or how you met, Stephanie was always at the ready to give a helping hand. For many years she took pride in caring for her mother, Shirley.

Stephanie had many hobbies and interests. She was a cat lover, greatly enjoyed doing arts and crafts, spending time on the creek, listening to music, and tie-dying everything. Her biggest passion was her family. She will always be remembered for her kind heart and devotion to those around her.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Hymiller; and her brother, Brian Duncan.








Stephanie is survived by her parents; two sons, Ryan Cox, of Southwest City, Missouri, and Mason Holliday, of Pineville, Missouri; two daughters, Robyn Hymiller and Kylie Hymiller, of Tahlequah, Oklahoma; a brother, Bruce Duncan, of Pewaukee Wisconsin; a sister, Lisa Fleming of Tyler Texas; an Aunt Leanne Beaudry of Siloam Springs Arkansas her grandchild, Landon McLean of Tahlequah Oklahoma; and her fur baby, Baybay of Pineville, Missouri; as well as a host of other family and friends, who will miss her dearly.

Nancy Young

Nancy Marie Young, age 83, Baxter Springs, Kansas, passed away Friday, May 27, 2022 at the Solace House of the Ozarks.

Nancy was born August 14, 1938 in Webster Groves, Missouri, daughter of the late Claude and Eileen (Zinn) Roam.

Nancy grew up in Joplin, Missouri and was a 1956 graduate of Joplin High. 









She married the love of her life, Terry Lee Young, on June 28, 1958. Together they were blessed with 63 years before her passing. She attended Joplin Junior College for a short period. Nancy worked as a waitress, assistant bank manager, and a Clerical Schedular for Market Research. 

She loved being able to watch her kids and grandkids sporting events whenever she had the chance. She enjoyed garage sale shopping and watching the St. Louis Cardinals, and attending the Cardinals Spring Training games. 

 Nancy was a Girl Scout Leader for many years, but, most of all she loved her family and was always looking forward to the next family reunion each year.








Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Eileen (Zinn) Roam; son-in-law, Tony Dean; and great-granddaughter, Eden Elizabeth.

Nancy is survived by her husband of 63 years, Terry Lee Young; three children, Elizabeth Young, Chris Young (Ann), and Pamela Dean (Ron); five grandchildren, Christopher Young,II., Megan Kirkland (David), Ashley Battle (Roy), Shannon Young, and Anthony Dean; seven step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Linda Green, Diane Jackson (Nick), and Debra Riemer (Gary); one brother, Charles Roam; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family will receive friends and family for a time of visitation from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at Parker Mortuary.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. with Nick Enabnit officiating in Parker Mortuary Chapel. Interment will follow at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery with Anthony Dean, Roynel Edouard, Dustin Jackson, Danny Houston, Jr., Kenny Homm, and Joey Homm serving as pallbearers. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be Christopher Young, II, Kelly Roam, and Adam Clopton.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made out to the Solace House or Avalon Hospice.

Janie Birmingham

Mary Jane (Janie) Birmingham, 74, died May 24th after a short struggle with stage IV metastatic lung cancer. Janie declined treatment to have a quality of life to be with her friends and family. 

Janie was born in Oklahoma City, August 21, 1947. Where she attended and graduated from Bishop McGuinness High School. Later, she attended Oklahoma State University. 

She moved to Tulsa where she married Tom Birmingham. They moved to Bella Vista, Arkansas in 1997, where she was employed in administrative positions in the medical field. 








Janie and Tom returned to Tulsa in 2017 and settled in the Brookside area where she lived until her passing. Happy and funny, caring and loving were Janie's trademark qualities. Her passing leaves a hole in the hearts of all who were privileged to know her. 

Survivors include her husband Tom of the home, her son Lance Lihou of Tulsa and a daughter Dori Galloway of Tulsa, her step daughter Lara Stoltze of Henderson, NV and step son Ted Birmingham of Rockport, Texas and granddaughters Addison Goldberg of Chicago, IL and Spencer Goldberg of San Diego, CA, Tayler Weldy of Webb City, MO, and Devinn Weldy of Jasper, MO.

Wilma Cornell

Wilma Mae Cornell, age 90, Elizabethtown, Kentucky, formerly of Joplin, passed away on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at Baptist Health, Hardin in Elizabethtown.

Wilma was born December 24, 1931 in Saginaw, Missouri, daughter of the late William N. Corbin and Flossie Mabel (Compton) Corbin.

She grew up in the Saginaw area and graduated from Neosho High School. 








She married Wilson Olen Cornell on May 28, 1949 in Joplin. She worked for years as bookkeeper for several companies including Sagamont Resort, Ross Fur and Hide Company, and Bennett Trucking. She was also a loyal member of the Royal Heights United Methodist Church for many years. She and Wilson lived at 2118 N. St. Charles in Joplin for over 60 years. 

She was devoted to her husband, and spent most of her time taking care of her two children. She also loved spending time with the grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by many.

In addition to her parents, Wilma was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Wilson Olen Cornell, who passed away on May 3, 2007.








Survivors include her children, Linda K. Gregory and husband Melvin of Elizabethtown, Michael C. Cornell Ph.D. and wife Tina of Huntsville, Alabama; grandchildren, Micah Jon Gregory of Louisville, KY, Sara Diane Kelley of LaGrange, KY, Patrick M. Cornell and wife Caroline of Huntsville, AL, Nathan M. Cornell and wife Gracie of Huntsville, and Adam M. Cornell and wife Maddie also of Huntsville; great-grandchildren, Jace A. Kelley of LaGrange, Sean O. Kelley also of LaGrange, Carley L. Gregory of Elizabethtown, Wilma Cornell and Birdie Cornell both of Huntsville; sister, Virginia “Jenny” Jones and numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.

Graveside service will be held on Friday, June 3, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery with Pastor Ben Mitchell officiating. Interment will be in Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery with Randy Cornell, Micah Gregory, Jace Kelley, Nathan Cornell, Adam Cornell, and Ben Kelley serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at Parker Mortuary on Thursday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.

Carol Sontheimer

Carol Yvonne (Neely) Sontheimer, 85, Neosho, passed away on May 29 at Freeman Neosho Hospital. Carol was born on Christmas Day, December 25, 1936 to Pat and Edna (Lewis) Neely at home in St. Joseph, Missouri. 

She attended Lindbergh Elementary School and graduated from Lafayette High School, St. Joseph, in 1954 where she was a Lampion and worked on the school newspaper. 








After high school, she attended Gard's Business College and after graduation was employed by the Social Security Administration as a claims representative. She later became a full-time mom, homemaker and wife.

She was active in the PTA while her children were in school and served as a block parent in St. Joseph.

She married Jerry R. Sontheimer at St. Joseph's Co-Cathedral on October 22, 1955. He preceded her in death in 2009.

Carol moved to southwest Missouri in 1972 after her husband began a new career as a federal inspector for the United States Department of Agriculture.

She leaves behind two children, Steve, Neosho and Lee Ann Murphy, Neosho and three grandchildren, Emily Murphy, Joplin, Megan Murphy, Neosho and Patrick Murphy, Neosho. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.






 

Her parents and husband preceded her in death as did her sister, Janet Puett and two brothers, Raymond and Darrell Neely. Her nephew, Bill Sontheimer and a niece, Mary Sontheimer Clark, and a son-in-law, Roy W. Murphy also preceded her in death.

She was a member of the Catholic Faith and the St. Canera Parish in Neosho. She enjoyed travel, singing, music, and reading. Her apple pie was the best pie ever made as were her homemade cookies.

She was a devoted mom, grandmother, aunt, and friend to many.

Margo Johnson

Margaret (Margo) M. Johnson was born Feb. 15, 1944 in rural Newton County, Missouri, one of four children to Ray and Ellen Rentfro. She entered into rest on May 29, 2022, in the comfort of her home in rural Granby, at the age of 78. 

Margaret was a graduate of Diamond High School. She spent five years as a Navy wife and worked at several federal agencies. She retired from the Joplin social security office. 

 
On June 5, 1965, Margaret and Earl Johnson were united in marriage and he survives. 








In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sisters, Sharon Bergen and husband, Bill of Ponte Verda, Florida and Nancy Lewis of Diamond, Missouri and numerous nieces and nephews. 

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother, Mike Rentfro. 

Graveside services are scheduled for Thursday, June 2, 2022, at 1 pm at the Diamond Cemetery, Chaplain Joe Morris will officiate. The family will receive friends at a time of visitation, Wednesday evening from 4 pm – 6 pm at the Clark Funeral Home, Granby, Missouri.

Lyndell Edwards

Lyndell Joe Edwards, 67, of Webb City, MO, passed away on Friday May 27, 2022, at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, MO.

Lyndell was born on August 31, 1954, in Olton, TX, to Marlin and Carma (McBroom) Edwards. 

On June 12, 1976, he married Elaine (Hearon) Edwards in Baxter Springs, KS, and they made their home in Pittsburg, KS, until 1979 when they moved to Joplin, MO. In 1984 they moved to Webb City, MO.








Lyndell had several jobs through the years. After graduating high school in Golden City, MO in 1972, he attended College of the Ozarks, Point Lookout, MO, where he was a fireman until 1974. In 1976 he moved to Pittsburg, KS where he began working for Dickie Clay. He moved to Joplin, MO in 1979 and began working for Ozark Engineering as a welder, saw operator, and later as a beam line operator. 

When Ozark closed in 1982, he decided to continue his education at Missouri Southern University, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Biology in 1988. At that time, he took a position at Eagle Picher as an Environmental Engineer and later as the Wastewater Manager. In 2008 he started working for the City of Joplin as the Superintendent of Wastewater.

Through the years, Lyndell enjoyed bowling and playing golf with his friends, but his favorite activities revolved around deer hunting, reloading, and guns. He was a member of the Joplin Elks. He was an avid reader. His favorite books were the Louis L’Amour westerns, Sherlock Holmes, and Hercule Poirot. He enjoyed watching western movies, including John Wayne and Clint Eastwood, and playing with his dogs. His favorite “girls” were Milly, Molly, and Maggie, all black lab mixes. His current buddy was T’Bone, a Vizla/German Shorthair Pointer mix.

He is remembered by all who knew him as “one of a kind”. He had a dry sense of humor with a unique personality. You never knew what he was going to say or do next. Friends and family alike have numerous funny stories and crazy antics to tell. His friends describe him as “quite a character”, “the nicest crabby person I ever knew”, “always onry”, “partner in crime”, and the latest was “grumpy old man” from his favorite nurse at Mercy.








In addition to his wife, Lyndell is survived by his son, Justin Edwards of Webb City; his father Marlin Edwards and his sister Quilla Edwards, both of Olton, TX; 2 grandsons – Keegan Lumley and his wife Erika of Wilmington, NC and Logan Edwards of Webb City; and a host of family and friends. He is preceded in death by his mother and his daughter-in-law Michelle (Lumley) Edwards.

Funeral services have been scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at the Purcell Baptist Church in Purcell, MO. The family will receive friends during a time of visitation immediately following the service at the church.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory.

Jerry Wetovick

Dr. Gerald Patrick "Jerry" Wetovick, 86, of Cozad, passed away on May 25, 2022, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. Jerry was born Nov. 23, 1935, in Fullerton, to Edward and Josephine (Mahony) Wetovick. 

He graduated from Kearney High School in 1953. He attended Kearney State Teachers College from 1954-58. He then went on to graduate from the University of Nebraska Dental College in 1962. He married Patricia Jarosz on Aug. 19, 1961. They moved to Cozad in 1962 and had five children. He practiced dentistry in Cozad from 1962-2006. 







Jerry had a passion for his community and his work. He was an active member in several organizations including the school board, American Cancer Society, Chamber of Commerce and the Northwest District Dental Society, where he served as president, vice-president and secretary/treasurer. He also coached boys baseball and girls softball. 

He was active at Christ the King Parish with the Legion of Mary (president), a church trustee, a leader in Cursillo, CCD teacher for 20 years, member of Knights of Columbus, lector and Eucharistic minister. 

He enjoyed Husker football, golfing, hunting, motorcycling, boating, fishing and spending time at their Johnson Lake cabin with family. 

After his wife's death in 2007, he felt a STRONG calling from God and entered the seminary in Hales Corners, Wisconsin. He was ordained into the priesthood on June 4, 2010, in Grand Island. He was an associate pastor of Holy Spirit in North Platte and Sacred Heart Parish in Sutherland. He greatly enjoyed his time as a priest until his retirement from active ministry in 2013. From there, he moved into Meadowlark Pointe Assisted Living in Cozad, where he remained until his death. 

He is preceded in death by his parents; and wife, Patricia. 

Jerry is survived by his children, Renee (Greg) Hueftle of Cozad, Dave (Janell) Wetovick of Eustis, Dr. Sheila (Dr. Alan) Buchele of Carl Junction, Missouri, Paula (Jeff) Mackenzie of Lincoln and Dr. Patrick (Megan) Wetovick of Cozad; his grandchildren, Jessica (Chris) Woodward, Whitney (Jordan) Rathke, Madison Hueftle, Ryan (Stephanie) Wetovick, Drew (Nikki) Wetovick, Jordan Wetovick, Lauren Buchele, Anna (Zach) Snodgrass, Brooke and Sara Buchele, Macey Mackenzie, Colin (Juli) Wetovick and Ben and Nolan Wetovick; great-grandchildren, Ally and Henry Woodward, Mya and Ava Wetovick and Hadley Wetovick; his brothers, Bob and Don Wetovick; and his sister, Sharon Spencer. Memorials are suggested to Meadowlark Pointe Assisted Living, Christ the King Catholic Church or the donor's choice.

Tina Pinnell

Tina M. Pinnell, 61, of Carthage, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, May 19, 2022, at Freeman West Hospital in Joplin. Tina was born on May 2, 1961, in Tucson, Arizona to William “Bill” and Hellen Norrgard. A long time waitress in the Carthage area, Tina enjoyed spending time with her family and her loved ones. Some of her favorite hobbies included cooking, baking, and gardening.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Tim Drake. 









Survivors include her mother, Helen Norrgard, one son, Jeff Pinnell (Charlotte) of Carthage; one daughter, Shaundra Pinnell of Carthage; two brothers, Chris and Terry Norrgard; and five grandchildren. 

Tina was preceded in death by her father Bill Norrgard.

A memorial visitation will be held for Tina from 2:00 to 4:00 PM on Friday, May 27, 2022, at Ulmer Funeral Home in Carthage, Missouri.

Rositta Ann Norris of Vinita, OK passed from this life Monday, May 23, 2022 at her home. She was 70.

Rositta was born November 2, 1951 in Garden City, KS to Raymond and Argie (Hignite) Teague. She had lived in Vinita for the past 3 years moving from Wyandotte, OK. Rositta graduate from Miami High School Class of 1969 and from Miami Beauty College. She was a bookkeeper for B and D Fabrication in Joplin, MO.

Rositta was preceded in death by her parents and 3 brothers, Larry Teague, Jack Teague and Kenneth Teague.

Samuel "Tom" Hartman, age 90 of Webb City, passed away on May 27, 2022 at Freeman Hospital in Joplin.

Tom was born on April 9, 1932 to David “Luke” and Hettie (Clyburn) Hartman in Leeper, MO. Family was very, very important to Tom, and he enjoyed them more than anything.

Tom proudly served in the US Air Force, serving in the Korean War. 

For most of his working life, he was a salesman for Bossi Sales Co. in Springfield until his retirement in 1995.






 

Tom married his loving wife Sally on August 1, 1975 in Alba. He enjoyed fishing, but most of all his favorite sports teams- St. Louis Cardinals baseball, Kansas City Chiefs football, and the Mizzou basketball team.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Luke and Hettie, a brother Leslie Hartman, and a sister LaVaughn Ryker of Carthage. He was also preceded in death by a stepson, Jeff Grosse of Aurora. Tom is survived by his wife, Sally of Webb City; sisters Dorothy Provins of Joplin, Brenda Vaile of Carthage, and Rose Beaver of Springfield; children Scott Hartman and wife LeighAnn of Joplin, Kent Hartman and wife Tammie of Goodman, Lisa Robinson and husband Danny of Webb City, and Greg Grosse and wife Kammi of Ozark; grandchildren Chassity, Shanda, Laurie, Jennifer, Echo, Wayde, Janae, Hannah, and Morgan; and two step-granddaughters Jaclynne and Katelyn.

A graveside service for Tom will be held on Friday, June 3rd at the Webb City Cemetery with Jim Wickencamp officiating. Following the graveside, there will be a visitation at the Webb City Mining Days Building from 11am until noon.

John Conrad Florentine, 67 years old passed away May 14, 2022 at his home after a long illness.

John was born in La Mesa, California to Joe and Doris Johnson (Roesner) on November 13, 1954.

John served in the United States Navy. John worked in construction as well as a landscaper, drywall installer and concrete worker.








John married Sue Candelaria (Dalton) on July 17, 1992.

John enjoyed fishing and camping. He loved reading or watching anything about history. His favorite magazine was National Geographic.

John was preceded in death by both his parents, a brother and his wife.​

John is survived by brothers and sisters and nieces and nephews who live in California.








John had 6 stepchildren, 5 with spouses.. John had 10 ​grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren and a God-daughter. He will be missed by his family and friends.

Private Internment will be at Springfield National Cemetery.

Cremation arrangements are under the care of Mason-Woodard Mortuary and Crematory Joplin, Missouri.

Arlene Stanley

Neva Arlene (Hewitt) Stonecipher Stanley, 85, of Parsons, died at 6:26 A.M., Monday, May 22, 2022, at her home, in the comfort of her family.

Arlene was born January 27, 1937, at Fort Scott, Kansas, a daughter of Reeve Franklin and Neva Leah (Sours) Hewitt. She was raised and attended school there, graduating from the Fort Scott High School in 1955.

She attended the Fort Scott Community College for a year and then moved to Independence, KS to write the social column for the Independence Daily Reporter. 








She later attended Pittsburg State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education. She later earned her Master’s Degree in Counseling and her Education Specialist Degree (Ed.S.) in Counseling Psychology. 

From 1966 until 1979 she lived in Parsons and was first a secretary with the I.T.V. Program. She later taught fifth grade at the Lincoln Elementary School and later worked as a court services counselor in Parsons. 

In 1980 she moved to Miami, OK and taught at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M. She then moved to Grove, OK where she was a school psychologist/counselor and taught children in the Gifted Program. Upon retiring from Grove Schools in 1999, she remained in Grove working as a Licensed Professional Counselor, assisting abused and neglected children until 2006. She lived at Olathe, Kansas for two years until returning to Parsons in 2008.

In June 1957 she and Daniel Earl Stonecipher were united in marriage at Fort Scott, Kansas. They had 6 children, all of whom grew up and attended school in the Parsons area. They divorced in 1982. She married Louis W. Stanley on March 13, 2006, in Grove, Oklahoma. He survives of the home.

Other survivors include: two sons – Daniel Eric Stonecipher, Joplin, Missouri, Jorn Farley Stonecipher, El Paso, Texas; four daughters – Danna Leigh Stonecipher, Las Vegas, Nevada, Theresa Dianne Stonecipher, Joplin, Missouri, Maria Delaine Hall, Derby, Kansas, Dawn Cathleen Hungerford, Albuquerque, New Mexico; fourteen grandchildren ; four great-grandchildren; many extended family members from her husband’s family.

Memorial services will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Youth Crisis Shelter of Parsons, which she helped to create or to the Proud Animal Lovers Shelter and may be left at or mailed to the Carson-Wall Funeral Home, P.O. Nancy Northrup

Nancy Beth Northup, 46, of Carl Junction, Missouri, departed this life suddenly on Sunday evening, May 22, 2022, at Freeman Hospital West, after suffering a massive heart attack.

Nancy entered this life on September 2, 1975, in Joplin, Missouri, one of two daughters born to the union of Phil Robert and Victoria Jean (Wiles) Northup.
She was raised in Joplin and was a 1993, graduate of Joplin High School. She furthered her education by receiving her Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. She was currently employed by Freeman Hospital as a Registered Nurse.






 

During the Covid pandemic, Nancy traveled to New Jersey and Phoenix to work on the front lines.

Nancy has resided the last twelve years in Carl Junction. She enjoyed biking, fishing, camping, playing games, working on old cars with her Dad, helping with Gracie’s theater projects and spending countless hours with her family.

Nancy was a member of Harmony Heights Baptist Church. She loved the LORD and her church family and enjoyed driving the church van for all the Sunday school trips and conferences. Nancy’s greatest joy was her daughter Gracie and she enjoyed spending every free moment with her on their many spontaneous adventures together.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Harold and Anna Lucille Northup and Elvin and Betty Wiles.






 

Nancy is survived by her daughter, Gracie Morris and husband, Luke, of Carl Junction; her parents, Phil and Victoria Northup also of Carl Junction; a sister, Kelly Witter and husband, Dave, of St. Charles, Missouri; and three nieces, Emma, Sophie and Abbey Witter.

Funeral services are 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 28, 2022, at Parker Mortuary with Ryan Jackson officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday morning beginning at 9:00 a.m. in the mortuary chapel. Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary in Joplin, Missouri.

Mr. Dale Bachtold, 77, of Sarcoxie, Missouri, passed away Saturday, May 21, 2022 at the Sarcoxie Nursing Center.

Dale was born on October 9, 1944 in Sarcoxie to the union of the late Albert Leander and Edna Sultana (Coates) Bachtold. He was a graduate of Sarcoxie High School. 

He retired from Day and Zimmermann Ammunition Plant in Parsons, Kansas after many years of dedicated service. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Sarcoxie. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and riding his motorcycle; as well as spending time with family and friends.








He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother-in-law, George Gurley.

Dale is survived by his sister, Ruth Gurley, of Sarcoxie; two nephews, Erik Richard Gurley, of Bentonville, Arkansas, Jared Dale Gurley of Sarcoxie and Gina Lynne Revel, of Leawood, Kansas; great-nieces, Cailyn Revel and Zoe Gurley; cousin, Jeannine Wormington, of Sarcoxie; as well as a host of other family and friends.

Mr. Curtiss Dale Lynch, 74, of Sarcoxie, Missouri passed away Sunday, May 22, 2022 at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, Missouri.

Curtiss entered this life on Tuesday, July 29, 1947 in Joplin, Missouri to the union of the late Harold Floyd and Helen Lee (Hasselbring) Lynch. He went to Sarcoxie Schools and later obtained his Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering at Pittsburg State University. 

On November 1, 1968 he enlisted in the United States Army, retiring in 1985 as a Master Sergeant, Also a First Sergeant for many years. His career field was Military Intelligence. 








During his enlisted years he received many Commendation Medals and Ribbons. Army commendation Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Army Extraordinary Medal, Four Overseas Service Bars, National Defense Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with palm and Sharpshooter Expert and was active member of the group Duffies.

On October 4, 2011 he was united in marriage to Linda Campbell and together they shared ten years.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Sarcoxie, the American Legion, the Sarcoxie Sentinels, a member of the Society for Creative Anachronism, and was involved and supportive of the Veterans Memorial in Sarcoxie. He recently returned home from the Veterans Honor Flight. He enjoyed golfing as well as spending time with family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold Lynch and Helen Howard; brother,Gregory Earl Howard; and Joyce Lynch.








Curtiss is survived by his wife, Linda; children, Verna Robertson and husband of Neosho Missouri, Amy Jasinski and husband, Chad, of Las Vegas, Nevada and Jordan Levi Lee, and wife, Caitlyn, of Colorado Springs, Colorado; grandchildren Austin Lynch and his wife Lauren, Rosie Haley and Helen Jasinski, Joseph Heflin, Jacob Heflin and Brayden Lee; siblings, Keith Howard and wife, Jan, of Overland Park, Kansas, David Howard and wife, Barbara, of Joplin. Missouri and Jonalee Gordon, of Sarcoxie, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other family and friends.

Memorial services with full military honors for Mr. Lynch are 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 25, 2022 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sarcoxie with Pastor Gary Griffin officiating. Inurnment will follow at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Sarcoxie.

Mona Joy Love, age 94, of Rocky Comfort, Missouri passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at her home.

She was born September 21, 1927 in Kansas City, Missouri the daughter of Wallace Edwin and Dorothy “Susan” (Jones) Simon. 

On August 7, 1943 in Bentonville, Arkansas she was united in marriage to David Love, who preceded her in death on January 27, 1977. 








Also preceding her in death were her parents; two sisters, Juanita Kirk and Betty Sue Love and a very special friend, Dr. Bob Mutrux.

Surviving are one son, Butch Love and his wife Brenda of Rocky Comfort, Missouri; two daughters, Joyce Hagensick and her husband Bob of Rocky Comfort, Missouri and Nancy Call and her husband Rick of Neosho, Missouri; one sister, BJo Phelps and her husband Glen of Wheaton, Missouri; four grandchildren, Marly, Dusty, Monica and Amy and seven great grandchildren, Spencer, Shane, Ryan, True, Maia, Zane and Gauge.

Mona attended school in Rocky Comfort, Missouri. She was a homemaker and had always lived in the same house as when she and David married. Gardening, fishing and going out to eat were some of her favorite ways to spend time. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Powell, Missouri.

Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at McQueen Funeral Home in Wheaton, Missouri. J.R. Burr and Tommy Burr will conduct the services. Burial will be at Union Cemetery south of Stella.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Monday at McQueen Funeral Home in Wheaton.

Bill Costlow

Billie “Bill” Gene Costlow, 93 of Baxter Springs, Kansas passed from this life on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at Quaker Hill Nursing Home.

Bill was born October 21, 1928 in Phelps, Missouri to the union of James Albert and Lela Wilminia (Bowerman) Costlow. Bill graduated from Quapaw High School with the class of 1946. He then attended NEO and received his Associate degree. 

Bill served as a 2nd Class Petty Officer in the United States Navy from 1952-1955, stationed in California, Oklahoma, Texas, and Japan.






 

During his time in the service, he worked as an airplane mechanic. Following the service Bill worked for Boeing Manufacturing in Wichita for two years before moving back to Baxter Springs.

Bill was a furniture salesman for Westco Home Furnishings until retiring in 2007. Bill served on the Baxter Springs Ambulance Board and the Family Life board. Earlier in life Bill was a member of the Joplin Men’s Bowling league.

Bill was united in marriage to Coralie Ann (Evans) Costlow on February 12, 1949 in Baxter Springs, KS. She precedes him in death. Additional family that preceded Bill in death are his parents, and four brothers, Charles, Lloyd, Jim, and Don; grandchild, Brian; great grandchild, Colby.

Bill is survived by four daughters, Vicki Means (Don) of Galena, KS, Kathy Wilson (Homer) of Baxter Springs, KS, Karen Green (Tom) of Pierce City, MO, and Kay Dinger (Alan) of Baxter Springs, KS; one son, Ron Costlow (Audrey) of Baxter Springs, KS; sister, Wanda Youngblood of Broken Arrow, OK; fifteen grandchildren, Christy Corbit, Josh Esquibel, Christopher Means, Andrea Dinger, Brad Biddle, Brent Dinger, Matt Biddle, Jake Hamilton, Kelsey Biddle, Lyndee Costlow, Corey Smith, Gage Smith, Brody Smith, and Izzy Smith; along with thirteen great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at Derfelt’s Baxter Chapel. David Anderson will officiate. Burial will follow in the Lowell Cemetery. Jaycob Williams

Jaycob Lee Allen Williams, 11 months, of Goodman, Missouri, was welcomed into heaven on Sunday, May 22, 2022, in Kansas City, Kansas, with his loving family by his side.

Jaycob, cherished son of Cole Williams and Samantha Qualls, was born on Thursday, June 17, 2021, in Joplin, Missouri. 

He was energetic, kind, ornery, joyful little boy that could fill a room with smiles with his presence. During his short time here on earth, he taught those around him how to love, laugh, and enjoy the little things.






 

He loved playing in water. Some could say he was a “fish”, swimming and splashing any chance he could get. He was a special little boy. Most children his age shied away from loud noises, but he loved them. 

He loved trains, dinosaurs, food and his favorite show “Cocomelon”. He always smiled, no matter what! His contagious “cheezers” smile could brighten everyone’s day. Jaycob will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Jaycob is in heaven with his great grandpa Howard Qualls and his wife Donna Qualls; Great Grandpa Ralph Myrick; his nana Romona Williams.








He is survived by his parents, three brothers, Isaiah Williams, Kolten Williams, and Grayson Robertson, of Goodman, Missouri; two sisters, McKinley Williams and Jaylynn Robertson, of Goodman, Missouri; his grandparents, Lauri Myrick and Mike Jefferson, of Noel, Missouri, Brett Williams and Sheryl Worley, of Noel, Missouri, and Angela and George Lando, of Lanagan, Missouri; his great grandparents, Romona Morris and Carl Peterson, of Noel, Missouri; two uncles, Evan Williams, of Billingsley, Alabama and Patrick Qualls, of Goodman, Missouri; four great aunts and uncles, Shelley Hanning and Dennis Williams, of Lanagan, Missouri, Jessi Myrick and Dillon Reichle, of Jane, Missouri, Cindy Morrow and Kim Morrow, of Billingsley, Alabama, Aunt Honey and Uncle Mikey, of Neosho, Missouri.

Yvonne Denise Campbell, age 58, Carl Junction, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, May 26, 2022 at her home surrounded by family.

Yvonne was born May 18, 1964 in Lindsay, California, daughter of Wayne and Retha (Carpenter) Clifton.

Yvonne traveled all around with her parents growing up, specifically California, Oklahoma, and Missouri. She was blessed to spend 21 years with her husband, Kenneth Campbell before his passing in 2008. 







She enjoyed sewing, working puzzles, watching NCIS, and going to concerts with her daughter, Racheal. Sunflowers, frogs, and animals were some of her favorite things.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Kevin Wininger; and one brother, Alex Clifton.

Yvonne is survived by her four children, Racheal Wininger, Brent Campbell (Victoria), Jonathan Campbell (Paige), and Elizbith Campbell; eight grandchildren, Angelis, Sabbath, Nivek, Echo, Lindsey, Kenlee, Oliver, and Amelia; one great-grandchild, Faina; and three siblings, Teressa Brockway, Wayne Clifton (Susan), and Wanona Magill; and mother, Retha Clifton

Bill Stevens

Robert W. "Bill" Stevens, 78, passed away at 3:55pm on Wednesday, May 25, 2022, in Rosewood Heights. He was born August 5, 1943, in Alton, the son of the late Carl and Nora (Phillips) Stevens. 

He married the former Letha Jean Grisham in 1980 in Alton and she preceded him in death on February 14, 2002. 

Survivors include two sons: Kerry Stevens of Wood River, Kyle Stevens of Bethalto, two step – daughters and sons in law: Tammy and Walter Copeland of Rosewood Heights, Sherri and Steve Morris of Webb City, Missouri, several grandchildren, several great grandchildren, four sisters and two brothers in law: Helen Forgy of Troy, Illinois, Tina and Bob Maroon of Carrollton, Illinois, Alice and James Colley of Rosewood Heights, Thersia Sweet of Florida, four brothers and sisters in law: Ike and Melanie Stevens of Washington, Jim and Sue Copeland of Godfrey, Leslie and Nona Copeland of Madison, Alabama, Walter and Tammy Copeland of Rosewood Heights, many nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.








Bill worked at Olin as a Lead Operator and then at Reagent Chemical White Flyer as a Maintenance Supervisor in Webb City, Missouri. He was enjoyed making wind spinners.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son: Wayne Stevens, and a sister: Violet Wofford.

In celebration of his life, visitation will be from 10am to 12pm on Tuesday, May 31, 2022, at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River. Graveside services will be held at 1pm on Wednesday, June 1, 2022, at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Webb City, Missouri.

Memorials are suggested to the family and will be accepted at the funeral home.
