Delpha Merriman

Delpha June Merriman was born March 21, 1931, in Neosho, Missouri, one of six children to Harold Evander Augustus and Zella Doris (Ehrhart) Drake. She entered into rest on May 13, 2022, in the comfort of her home in Seneca, Missouri at the age of 91. 

Delpha was a lifelong area resident and had worked at Eagle Picher in Seneca until her retirement. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, quilting and was a wonderful cook. She was a member of the New Salem Baptist Church. 








On November 27, 1947, in Neosho, Missouri, Delpha and Ray Merriman were united in marriage and Ray survives. 

In addition to her husband of 74 years, she is survived by three children, Gary Merriman and wife, Marilyn of Sebring, Florida, Evelyn Meredith and husband, Jess of Neosho, Missouri and Raymon Merriman and wife, Julie of Neosho, Missouri; two sisters, Vivian Camerer of Vancouver, Washington, and Charlotte Philliber of Newtonia, Missouri; seven grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren and seventeen great great grandchildren. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Reba Marie Ferguson, and Audrey Mae Ferguson, both of Neosho: one brother, Gerald Elton Drake of Kanab, Utah and one son, Johnny Ray Merriman of Miami, Oklahoma. 

Funeral services for Delpha will be held on Monday, May 23, 2022, at 1 pm at the Clark Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, Rev. Jack Sanders will officiate. Interment will follow in the New Salem Cemetery, west of Neosho. The family will receive friends at a time of visitation on Sunday, May 22, 2022, from 3 pm -4 pm at the Clark Funeral Home, Neosho.
