(From Knell Mortuary)Christopher Lynn “Chris” Hornback, 58, Carthage, Missouri, passed away Wednesday morning, May 18, 2022 at Freeman West Hospital, Joplin, Missouri. Chris was born July 17, 1963 in Joplin, Missouri, the son of Randall Hornback and Donna (Driskill) Hornback. He was a 1981 graduate of Joplin Memorial High School.
He was a Warehouse Manager at Standard Transportation. Chris married Susan Wilkerson on June 12, 1998 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. He loved golfing, water sports, car racing, hunting, barbequing, and live music.
He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Susan Hornback; two children, Clint Wilkerson (Mercedes), and Marcie Mason (Josh); his parents, Randall and Donna Hornback; grandchildren, Talan Mason, Elijah Mason, Clara Mason, and Bristol Wilkerson; a brother, Randy Hornback; his beloved dog, Dexter; and many extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be held 11 am, Saturday, May 21, 2022 at Knell Mortuary, Carthage. Burial will follow services at Fasken Cemetery, Carthage. The family will receive friends from 10 am until service time. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to one’s charity of choice in care of Knell Mortuary.
