Lorene Simpson

Lorene L. Simpson, age 94, of Diamond, passed to her eternal heavenly home on May 14, 2022.

Lorene was born on July 27, 1927. She was married to James W. Simpson for over 60 years and they shared many wonderful trips and memories together. 

They had three children. Jimmie W. Simpson of Carlsbad, NM, Jackie L. Chavez (Ray) of Diamond, MO, and Sheryl R. Gorman (Tonie) of Diamond, MO. 









She is also survived by grandchildren, Stacy Sopher (Brad), Robert Price (Amy), Serena Colgin (Andrew), numerous great grandchildren, numerous great great grandchildren, sister, Sharon K. Myers (Carroll) of Neosho, and sister in laws, Joan Beaver and Dorothy Beaver.

Lorene sold Avon Products for over 50 years and was a top producer and recruiter for many years. She earned several trips and enjoyed President’s Club and Avon Hall of Fame status. She also worked in the Diamond School District as a substitute teacher and the Diamond Bank, and the Carlsbad National Bank. She taught school in a one room school house in McDonald County in her twenties. Lorene was an Order of the Eastern Star member for over 50 years, and also served as DDGM and Grand Representative. She was Mother Advisor of Neosho Rainbow Assembly # 4 for more years than we can ever remember. She was a God Serving, noble and inspiring woman to many. Lorene had a goal to write a book, and she completed that goal. The book is titled, ‘Life in Reality’. Lorene attended church at Silver Moon Full Gospel and The Sheep Shed.

Lorene was preceded in death by her husband, Jim, granddaughter, Michelle Mynatt, sister, Lucille Ward, brothers, Donald Beaver, Junior Beaver, Marvin Beaver and James Beaver.

Celebration of Life services will be held on Thursday, May 19, 2022 at the Clark Funeral Home, Neosho, Missouri, Brother Robert Mattingly will officiate. Interment will be in the Owsley Union Cemetery in Longview, Missouri and serving as pallbearers will be Jimmie Simpson, Sheryl Gorman, Tonie Gorman, Andrew Colgin, Serena Colgin, Jaycob Colgin, Jayden Colgin, Jackie Chavez, Ray Chavez, Robert Price, Amy Price and Landon Mynatt. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Thursday, from noon until 1 pm.
