(From Ulmer Funeral Home)Marvin R. Wescott formerly of Carthage passed away 10:22 Saturday evening May 28, 2002. Marvin was born to Elvis Wescott Sr. and Margurite Wescott(Hamilton) on July 7, 1937 in Carthage Mo.
Marvin was a longtime Jasper County resident. He worked for the Division of Employment Security for several years before retiring in 1998.
Some of Marvin's favorite pastimes were square-dancing and a occasional casino trip. He also enjoyed football,bowling and boxing.
Marvin married Fern O'Dell Pippin on Sept. 17,1977 in Carthage Mo. she survives.
Additional survivors would include one daughter, Cathy Hayes(Chet) of Kimberling City Mo.
One brother, Gary Wescott Carthage MO. Two sisters Velma and Lois. Three grandchildren Kristen Martin(Scott), Jason Benward(Darcy), Meggie Etris(Josh). Eight great grandchildren Sam Martin, Ben Martin, Zac Martin, Nova Etris, Charley Benward, Maverick Etris, Harrison Benward, Cooper Benward.
Marvin was preceded in death by one son Reggie Pippin in 2014, one granddaughter Reggina Pippin in 1988. Two brothers Steve Wescott, Elvis Wescott Jr. and one sister Carolyn Payne.
Graveside services will be held 3:00 p.m. Thursday June 2, 2022 at Weaver Cemetery Oronogo Mo.
