Nancy Young

Nancy Marie Young, age 83, Baxter Springs, Kansas, passed away Friday, May 27, 2022 at the Solace House of the Ozarks.

Nancy was born August 14, 1938 in Webster Groves, Missouri, daughter of the late Claude and Eileen (Zinn) Roam.

Nancy grew up in Joplin, Missouri and was a 1956 graduate of Joplin High. 









She married the love of her life, Terry Lee Young, on June 28, 1958. Together they were blessed with 63 years before her passing. She attended Joplin Junior College for a short period. Nancy worked as a waitress, assistant bank manager, and a Clerical Schedular for Market Research. 

She loved being able to watch her kids and grandkids sporting events whenever she had the chance. She enjoyed garage sale shopping and watching the St. Louis Cardinals, and attending the Cardinals Spring Training games. 

 Nancy was a Girl Scout Leader for many years, but, most of all she loved her family and was always looking forward to the next family reunion each year.








Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Eileen (Zinn) Roam; son-in-law, Tony Dean; and great-granddaughter, Eden Elizabeth.

Nancy is survived by her husband of 63 years, Terry Lee Young; three children, Elizabeth Young, Chris Young (Ann), and Pamela Dean (Ron); five grandchildren, Christopher Young,II., Megan Kirkland (David), Ashley Battle (Roy), Shannon Young, and Anthony Dean; seven step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Linda Green, Diane Jackson (Nick), and Debra Riemer (Gary); one brother, Charles Roam; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family will receive friends and family for a time of visitation from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at Parker Mortuary.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. with Nick Enabnit officiating in Parker Mortuary Chapel. Interment will follow at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery with Anthony Dean, Roynel Edouard, Dustin Jackson, Danny Houston, Jr., Kenny Homm, and Joey Homm serving as pallbearers. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be Christopher Young, II, Kelly Roam, and Adam Clopton.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made out to the Solace House or Avalon Hospice.
