Bill Stevens

Robert W. "Bill" Stevens, 78, passed away at 3:55pm on Wednesday, May 25, 2022, in Rosewood Heights. He was born August 5, 1943, in Alton, the son of the late Carl and Nora (Phillips) Stevens. 

He married the former Letha Jean Grisham in 1980 in Alton and she preceded him in death on February 14, 2002. 

Survivors include two sons: Kerry Stevens of Wood River, Kyle Stevens of Bethalto, two step – daughters and sons in law: Tammy and Walter Copeland of Rosewood Heights, Sherri and Steve Morris of Webb City, Missouri, several grandchildren, several great grandchildren, four sisters and two brothers in law: Helen Forgy of Troy, Illinois, Tina and Bob Maroon of Carrollton, Illinois, Alice and James Colley of Rosewood Heights, Thersia Sweet of Florida, four brothers and sisters in law: Ike and Melanie Stevens of Washington, Jim and Sue Copeland of Godfrey, Leslie and Nona Copeland of Madison, Alabama, Walter and Tammy Copeland of Rosewood Heights, many nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.








Bill worked at Olin as a Lead Operator and then at Reagent Chemical White Flyer as a Maintenance Supervisor in Webb City, Missouri. He was enjoyed making wind spinners.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son: Wayne Stevens, and a sister: Violet Wofford.

In celebration of his life, visitation will be from 10am to 12pm on Tuesday, May 31, 2022, at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River. Graveside services will be held at 1pm on Wednesday, June 1, 2022, at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Webb City, Missouri.

Memorials are suggested to the family and will be accepted at the funeral home.
