Eunice M. Carter, 96, of Carthage, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, May 15, 2022 at St. Luke’s Nursing Home in Carthage. Eunice was born on February 25, 1926, in Rogers, Texas, to Joe Martinec and Victoria Jecmerik. She worked as a secretary for the Texas Instruments before moving to Carthage.
She was joined in marriage by Robert A. Carter in 1958 in Denton, Texas; he preceded her in death on May 12, 2004.
Eunice is survived by three grandchildren, Sherrann Hay, Michael Jones, and Christopher Bennett; and five great-grandchildren, Daysia, Dylan, Austin, Elizabeth, and Zoe.
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert A. Carter; her daughter, Carolyn Bennett; her parents, Joe and Victoria Martinec; and her five sisters, Leona, Irene Hluchan, Viola Tyroch, Alma Roewe, and Eralee Morphis.
A graveside service is scheduled at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, May 18, 2022, at Oak Hill Cemetery in Carthage. There will be a visitation held from 1:30 to 2:30 pm at Ulmer Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 before the graveside. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery.
