Barbara Bernhardt

Barbara Ann (Reiman) Bernhardt, 77, of Sarcoxie, Missouri, formerly of Lost Springs, Kansas, passed away Tuesday September 27, 2022 in the comfort of her home.

Barbara was born on May 14, 1945 in Herington, Kansas, to the union of the late Carl W. and Mildred S. (Rindt) Reiman. 

On November 1, 1974 she was united in marriage to Leland H. Bernhardt, together they shared thirty-six years, until his passing on September 15, 2011. She retired from the medical industry, after many years of dedicated service. She enjoyed working on the family farm, gardening and raising cattle. 








For the last six years, she made Sarcoxie her home, moving here from Lincolnville, Kansas. She attended Trinity Lutheran Church and enjoyed volunteering at the Sarcoxie Senior Center. Her family and friends were always Barbara’s priority. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and wonderful friend to many. She will truly be missed by all those who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Barbara is survived by her children, Jody Chance and husband, Steve, of Sarcoxie, Missouri and Gary Stuart and wife, Teresa, of Abilene, Kansas and step-daughter, Casey Clark and husband, Sam, of Holly Springs, North Carolina; grandchildren, Kylie Jones and husband, Ebbie, Craig Ralston and wife, Cassandra, Madelyn Stuart, Stephen Chance, Emily Chance, Stetson Baublitz and Kaylee Johnson; two great-grandsons and two great-granddaughters; brother, Ronald Reiman and wife, Babette; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other family and friends.








Visitation will be from 2-4:00 p.m. Sunday, October 2, 2022 at Housh-Goodwin Funeral Home in Sarcoxie. Funeral service for Barbara will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 3, 2022 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Lincolnville, Kansas with Pastor Alan Stahlecker officiating. Burial to follow at Lincolnville Cemetery. 

Those honoring her life by serving as pallbearers are Craig Ralston, Ebbie Jones, Jeff Collie, Bill Weatherman, Jeff Deines and Harry Deines. Honorary pallbearers are Kenny Brichacek, Bob Housh, Curt Feather and Roy Lewis. 

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Sarcoxie Senior Center or St. John’s Lutheran LWML in care of the funeral home.
