Joey Wald

(From Mason-Woodard Mortuary)

Jerry (Joey) Wald passed away at 49 years old on November 3rd, 2022. Joey’s friends and family will remember him as a joyous, friendly, faithful servant of the Lord. He made an impact on everyone he met.

Joey taught his friends and family many things, but something he was most passionate about was his love for Jesus and all people. If you knew Joey, you knew what it meant to have a friend that sticks closer than a brother, how it felt to be loved with a genuine heart and what a personal relationship with God looked like.

There was not a time that you would catch Joey without a smile, laugh, word of wisdom or a prayer. Joey walked in humility, forgiveness, and love toward others. He was a great example of God’s perfect love because he did not keep a record of any wrongdoings towards him. There was not a task that he would not tackle and accomplish, especially if it brought someone else joy and made them feel the love of the Lord.

Joey had many accomplishments in life. His most significant accomplishment in life was not only his family, but also the ministering he did with his wife, Lacee. Joey had a gift from God for making the Bible understandable to all. He touched people with his wisdom and intricate knowledge of the word, his analogies and jokes, and the pictures he would explain or draw as he so eloquently taught others about the Lord. This gift of wisdom and genuine love for others is a legacy that will continue on through his wife and his boys.

Joey was married to the love of his life Lacee Wald for 25 years and had 4 children, Heaven, Zach, Jeremiah, and Austin. Though Joey is no longer with us, we know he is dancing in heaven with God and relatives that have gone before him. Joey was a remarkable man. He was one of a kind and will never be forgotten. The family will hold a Celebration of Life at Faith Assembly on Friday, November 11, 2022 at 5:30 p.m., open to all friends, family, and loved ones.
