Terry Sims

Terry Lee Sims, age 75, of Neosho, Missouri, passed away at 4:35 p.m. on Monday, November 21, 2022, at Freeman Hospital in Joplin, Missouri. He was born January 30, 1947, in Granby, Missouri, to the late Terrel and Helen (Largen) Sims.

Terry graduated from Granby High School and, following high school, worked as a police officer in Warrensburg, Missouri. Terry returned to Newton County and retired after working as a forklift driver for Ozark Storage Terminal for 35 years. He also assisted his wife, Brenda, with delivery for Neosho Daily News for over fifteen years.






 

On April 8, 1965, he married Brenda Ellen (Goswick) in Neosho. She preceded him in death on May 21, 2021.

He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his son, Scott Sims of Ft. Myers, Florida; two daughters, Connie Boyd and Carrie Sims of Neosho; four grandchildren, Megan Farley, Nicholas (Lacie) Linton, Tristan Sims, and Austin Sims; great-grandchildren, Konnor Peyton, Kameryn Layman, Kaisen Linton, Shelby Boyer, Summer Linton, and Nicholas Linton II; and two sisters, Shirley (John) Castiaux of Cookeville, Tennessee, Cheryl (Tom) Fazel of Wichita, Kansas. 








In addition to his wife, he is preceded in death by his sister Deloris Shoemake and his brother Richard Sims.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, November 28, 2022, at the Burkhart Cemetery in Racine, Missouri. Pat Kelly will officiate. Visitation will be held from 1:00-2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 27, 2022. at the Clark Funeral Home Chapel of Memories in Neosho, Missouri.
