(From Paul Thomas Funeral Home)Windell Francis Rooney of Quapaw, OK passed from this life Saturday, November 19, 2022 at Freeman Hospital in Joplin, MO. He was 82.
Windell was born January 5, 1940 in Greenbriar, AR to Charles and Mary Ellen (Clark) Rooney. He had lived in in Picher, OK and Baxter Springs, KS before moving to Quapaw in 2012.
He was a Journeyman Electrician and a member of I.B.E.W. in Tulsa, OK. He had attended Cardin Christian Church in Cardin, OK.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother, Adolph Rooney,4 sisters, Marcene Hensley, Faye Rooney, Leona Phillips and Naomi Rooney and a great-granddaughter, Micah Stogsdill.
Windell is survived by his wife Octa Jo Rooney of the home, 2 sons, Mike Rooney and his wife Yolonda of North Miami, OK and Joe Don Rooney and his wife Tiffany of Nashville, TN, 2 daughters, Robin Cawyer and her husband Brov of Quapaw, OK and Kelly Anderson of Franklin, TN, 1 brother, Charles Willard "Bud" Rooney of Webb City, MO, 9 grandchildren, Mercedes Myers, Allison Graham, Kable Garcia, Connell Cawyer, Morgan Lee Rooney, Meagan Stogsdill, Jagger Rooney, Raquel Rooney and Devon Rooney and 5 great-grandchildren, Dawson Stogsdill, Deklan Stogsdill, Meyah Stogsdill, Ellie Garcia and Lukas Garcia.
Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at G.A.R. Cemetery in Miami, OK. Services have been placed in the care of Paul Thomas Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Miami, OK. Online condolences may be made at www.paulthomasfuneralhomes.com.
