Ernestine Anderson

Mrs. Ernestine (Hall) Lewis Cook Anderson, 88, of Joplin, Missouri, formerly of Goodman, Missouri, departed this life on Thursday morning, November 17, 2022, at Joplin Gardens in Joplin, Missouri.

Ernestine entered this life on February 18, 1934, in Goodman, Missouri, daughter of the late Willard and Christine (White) Hall. She was a lifelong resident of McDonald County Missouri. 


Besides being a devoted homemaker throughout her life, Ernestine also worked at MoArk Poultry and as a cook and several area restaurants. She enjoyed cooking, gospel singings, going to Branson and spending countless hours with her grandchildren. She attended the Goodman Pentecostal Church.








She was preceded in death by her parents; three husbands, Clayton Lewis, Gilbert “Gib” Cook and Robert “Van” Anderson; a son, Terry Lewis; a granddaughter, Terra Lewis; a sister, Nyla Grissom; and five brothers, Fred, Harold, Oliver, Charles and Kenneth Hall; and a daughter-in-law, Esther Lewis.

Ernestine is survived by her five children, Neal Lewis and wife, Melinda, of Joplin, Donna Morgan and husband, Jerry, of Joplin, Jerry Cook and wife, Jacqueline, of Wyandotte, Oklahoma, Larry Cook and wife, Frances, of Diamond and Cheryl Miller of Neosho; twenty-six grandchildren; forty-seven great grandchildren; eleven great-great grandchildren; five step children; Linda Reardon, Larry Rustin, Evelyn Reardon, Randy Brown and Robin Raulston; one sister, Mildred Cook of Neosho; as well as a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services are 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 21, 2022, in the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Homes with Mark Hall and Robert Nutting officiating. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery. 








Those honoring her life by serving as pallbearers are Jason Cook, Brent Morgan, Ryan Morgan, Jerod Lewis, Kelton Miller, Dakota Miller and Heath Lewis with Brian Lewis, Kris Alderman, Scooter Lewis, Timothy Farris and Gary Cook serving as honorary pallbearers.

The family will receive friends on Sunday afternoon from 2-4:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Memorials are being directed to the Alzheimer’s Associations c/o the funeral home. On-line condolences may be sent to the family through our website, www.ozarkfuneralhome.com.
