Rosalie Chambers

Rosalie Lou Chambers, 96, Nevada, MO passed away on Monday, August 31, 2026, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Blue Springs, MO. She was born May 24, 1931, in Redding, KS to Lewis S. and Mary E. (Wright) Van Sickle. Rosalie married, Lowell “Red” Chambers in 1957 and together they had three children, John, Warren, and Leetha.

Rosalie grew up in Nevada and attended Nevada Schools. Following her marriage to “Red” they enjoyed living on a farm together in Stotesbury, before moving to Richards where they lived until Red passed on November 29, 1987. 

 Rosalie moved to Nevada in 1988 and has continued to live here since that time. Throughout her life she enjoyed working in various restaurants. Rosalie enjoyed watching old westerns (like Gunsmoke) on TV, antiquing furniture and other antique collectables, taking care of stray cats, and most of all, watching her grandson play baseball.

She is survived by her daughter, Leetha Willford, Pomona, KS; grandsons, Bruce Chambers (Kristine), Blue Springs, MO, Carl Chambers, Joplin, MO; granddaughters, Elizabeth Aman (Sonny), Jacksonville, FL, Lisa Gartenbush (Joshua), Jacksonville, FL, Robin Hickman, Jacksonville, FL; numerous great grandchildren; and a close friends, Jack McAdoo (Carmen Radford), Nevada, MO. Rosalie was preceded in death by her husband; sons, John Chambers, Warren Chambers; her parents; and a brother, Joseph Van Sickle.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada with Roger Beach officiating. Interment will follow in the National Cemetery in Ft. Scott, Kansas at 12:30 p.m.
