Carolyn Williams

Carolyn Sue Williams, age 85, of Marionville, Missouri, passed away peacefully at 11:43 p.m. on Saturday, August 29, 2026. She was born in Searcy, Arkansas, on July 26, 1941, the daughter of Woodrow and Stella (Clay) Ellis.

Carolyn graduated from Searcy High School in 1959 and soon after met her future husband Arthur “Gale” Williams. They were married in Searcy, Arkansas, on August 13, 1961, and this union produced three sons. Following the birth of their third son, they purchased the funeral home in Marionville, Missouri in 1974. After Gale’s passing in 1993, Carolyn continued to operate the funeral home until her retirement in 2016. During her time in Marionville, she was an active member of the First Baptist Church and several ladies’ clubs, as well as a booster of Marionville sports. When Marionville founded their own little league program in 1976, her and Gale sponsored a team, for which she had many fond memories. She will always be regarded as a loving mother, grandmother, wife, and daughter.








Carolyn is survived by her three sons, Eric, Todd, and Cory, and three granddaughters, Taylor, Samantha, and Shelby.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Woodrow and Stella, her husband, Gale, and an infant brother.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at Williams Funeral Home in Marionville. Burial will follow at Marionville IOOF Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, in the funeral home chapel.
