(From Ozark Funeral Home)Sheila Lynette (Flood) Drake, 64, passed away suddenly in Columbus, Ohio. She was born on August 16, 1962, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Dennis and Patricia Flood.
Sheila was married to her loving husband, Curtis Drake of Goodman, Missouri, and was the proud and loving mother of three children: Shandi Garrett and her partner, Michael Scott, of Houston, Texas; Dustin Booth and his wife, Nikki, of Camden, Ohio; and Gayla Zion and her husband, Bruce, of Lewis Center, Ohio.
She is also survived by her sisters, Sheryl Brower (Layton) and Stacey Cossairt; her sister-in-law, Rhonda Flood; and many other family members and friends who loved her and will deeply feel her absence.
Sheila was preceded in death by her parents, Dennis and Patricia Flood; her older brother, Dennis Flood Jr., whom she missed dearly; and her mother- and father-in-law, Dorlene and Carrol Drake.
More than anything, Sheila loved her family. Her children were pretty good at talking her into just about anything—and more often than not, she happily went along with it. Few things brought her more joy than her five grandchildren: Ty Garrett, Gunner Garrett, Sydney Booth, Danielle Booth, and Carter Zion. Being their Granny, Nuddy, and Nanny brought her so much happiness, and she loved them beyond measure.

Sheila had an adventurous spirit and truly enjoyed life. She loved to travel, especially anywhere that brought her near the beach and ocean. She loved flying—especially takeoff. While most people might grip the armrest, Sheila loved the feeling of the plane leaving the ground and the excitement of wherever she might be headed next.
She loved to shop, and she especially loved her shoes. She had a soft spot for dogs, but none more than her beloved Rusty and Chupa. She also had a playful love of being scared—and of scaring everyone else. Halloween was right up her alley, and she loved the fun, suspense, and laughter that came with a good scare. It was another reflection of her mischievous sense of humor and her ability to find joy in the unexpected.
Sheila was kind and welcoming, with a way of making people feel special. She could make people laugh, make them feel at home, and, most importantly, make them feel like they mattered. Her warmth wasn't something she had to try to give—it was simply part of who she was.
Sheila leaves behind countless memories, and her absence will be deeply felt. But the love, laughter, and memories she gave so freely will remain with her family and friends always.
Funeral services are 11:00 am Saturday, October 3, 2026 at New Life Church in Anderson with Tom Ellis officiating. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5-7:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Arrangements are under the care of Ozark Funeral Home in Anderson, Missouri.
