Carolyn Laughlin

(From Simpson Funeral Home)

Carolyn Marie Laughlin, born on August 12, 1945, in Webb City, MO, was full of love, compassion, and creativity. Her life, rich in shared smiles and contagious laughter, was a testament to the power of human connection. Carolyn, a retired employee of Schreiber Foods, found joy and fulfillment in her work, but her most cherished role was being a loving and devoted member of her family. It was in the comfort of this familial bond that Carolyn's thoughtful demeanor shone brightest.

A resident of Pittsburg, Kansas for four years, Carolyn brought her love for life's simple pleasures to every corner of her community. She was a master of cross stitching and embroidery, skills that beautifully showcased her creativity.

Her love for camping and driving with her husband were testament to her adventurous spirit, while her fondness for search-a-word books and watching family sports events highlighted her playful and engaging nature. Carolyn was a regular player at Bunco games, a cherished tradition that she looked forward to with anticipation. Her previous residence in Carl Junction, Missouri, held fond memories and friendships that lasted a lifetime.

At the heart of Carolyn's life was her deep love for her family. She was the kind of woman who never arrived at a family gathering without her arms laden with homemade delights, ensuring that all present were well-fed and content.

She was preceded in death by her Loving husband Roger Laughlin; parents, Merle & Della Martin and brother, Jerald Martin, whose love and guidance greatly influenced Carolyn's life.

She is survived by her loving sister, Nancy (Tom) Ulmer; brother, Carl (Sharon) Martin; 4 step children and many nieces and nephews, who will continue to honor Carolyn's legacy.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Simpson Funeral Home in Carl Junction. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Following the service, a procession will proceed to Carl Junction Cemetery for burial.

In celebrating Carolyn Laughlin's life, we encourage all who knew and loved her to cherish the memories they created together. Please share your stories, photos, and moments of Carolyn on her memorial page. In doing so, we keep her spirit alive, painting a vibrant portrait of a woman whose life was a beautiful tapestry of love, compassion, and creativity. As we remember Carolyn, let us hold dear the words of Kahlil Gibran, "For life and death are one, even as the river and sea are one."
