Paula Robertson

Paula J. Robertson (Vandyken), age 78, of Aurora, MO passed away on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at the Select Specialty Hospital in Springfield, MO. She was born in Kansas City, MO on Tuesday, July 20, 1948; daughter of Joseph and Pauline (O'Hara) Warren. She attended Northeast High School in Kansas City, MO. 

Paula retired from Leggett and Platt after working for many years. She enjoyed drawing, crocheting, working jigsaw puzzles, playing the Lottery and Bingo. She enjoyed learning and sharing random facts and information. 






Paula was always up for a challenging crossword puzzle or word search. She enjoyed watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune, often trying to answer the puzzles before the participants. She became a small-town, country girl when moving to Pierce City. She thoroughly enjoyed cats and birds. She spent many hours feeding and watching birds. Paula loved her cat, Max, who was always by her side. Paula had a wicked sense of humor and enjoyed life. There was no kind of chocolate she didn't like. She ate sweets as often as possible and looked forward to the next delicious thing she might eat. She treasured her family and cherished the time she spent with them. Paula's last gift was giving life to others through organ procurement with Mid-America Transplant Network. She will be missed by many!

Surviving are the following: two children, Eugene (Mary Gold) Robertson of Aurora, MO and Sandy (Dwayne) Swigert of Springfield, MO; five grandchildren, Kristen (Will) Dudley, Amanda Swigert, Samantha Fulcher, Jessica Chapman, and Stephanie Mahan; seventeen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild with another on the way; one sister, Reva Moore of Adrian, MO; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. 








Paula was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Pauline Warren; husband, Loren Robertson; and three brothers, Lenny, Melvin, and Bob.

The family will receive friends at Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City, MO on Friday, September 25, 2026, from 1:00 PM- 2:00 PM. Burial will follow at Pierce City Cemetery at Pierce City, MO.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Watching Over Whiskers in Springfield, MO in care of the funeral home. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City, MO.
