Jerry Jeffers

Gerald Ralph Jeffers, known to many as Jerry, passed away on September 1, 2026, in Carthage, Missouri, at the age of 82. He was born on July 25, 1944, in Ashtabula, Ohio,to the late Ralph and Eileen (Ingram) Jeffers.

Jerry earned a Bachelor of Arts in Engineering, a foundation that supported a long and accomplished career. He served his country with honor for 21 years in the United States Army, a period of his life that reflected his discipline, loyalty, and sense of duty. Following his military service, he continued to apply his skills and knowledge as a computer engineer at Boeing for 13 years. In both his military and professional life, Jerry was valued for his dependability, intelligence, and calm presence.








He married the love of his life, Dora Combs, on June 2, 1967 in Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri.

Outside of his work, Jerry found joy in the game of golf, which remained one of his favorite pastimes. He appreciated the time spent on the course and the friendships that often came with it. His love of golf was matched by his willingness to give back to the community. He volunteered at Mercy Hospital, the Area Agency on the Aging, Briarbrook Golf Course, and Meals on Wheels. Through these efforts, he shared his time and energy in ways that made a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

Jerry will be remembered as a man of service, integrity, and generosity. He touched the lives of many through his years of military service, his professional contributions, and his volunteer work. 






His life reflected a steady commitment to doing what was right and helping where he was needed. Those who knew him will remember his warm spirit, his sense of purpose, and the example he set through a life well lived.

Jerry is survived by his beloved wife, Dora Jeffers; and sister, Nancy Jeffers (Greg).

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Allan Jeffers.

Arrangements are under the direct care of Parker Mortuary in Joplin, Missouri.
