Mary Stephens

Mary Stephens of Pineville, Missouri, passed away on September 8, 2026, at the age of 81. She was born on June 7, 1945, in Anderson, Missouri, to Benjamin and Ruth (Skaggs) Guthrie.

Mary lived a life marked by love, kindness, and generosity. She married the love of her life, Robert Stephens, on February 2, 1967, and together they built a beautiful life centered on family, faith, and hard work. Robert survives of the home. Mary was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend whose gentle spirit touched the lives of all who knew her. Mary spent 29 years working for Vacation Rentals for Cooper Communities in Bella Vista, Arkansas. She was known for her dedication, reliability, and strong work ethic, and she took pride in doing her work well. Her years of service reflected the same steady character she carried into every part of her life.

Faith was an important part of Mary’s life, and she was a member of the First Christian Church in Anderson, Missouri. Her church family was a source of comfort and fellowship to her, and she valued the relationships she built through worship and service.

Mary found joy in the simple and meaningful things in life. She enjoyed gardening, canning, reading, and watching the sunsets from the porch. She especially cherished time spent with her family, and those moments were among the most treasured of her life. Her home was a place of warmth and welcome, and she created lasting memories through her caring nature and thoughtful presence. The love she shared with her family was evident in all she did, and her legacy will live on in the hearts of those she loved.

In addition to her husband, Robert, Mary is survived by her children, Bradley Gordon and Tammy of Southwest City, Missouri, Garland Stephens of Stark City, Missouri, Jacki Campbell and Paul of Pineville, Missouri, Kelley Martin and Justin of Pineville, Missouri, and Rob Stephens and Mellissa of Pineville, Missouri. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Lucas, Lacey, Bliss, Chase, Shanie, Kimberly, Matt, Anthony, Kobbe, Matthew, Randa, and Courtney, along with 22 great-grandchildren. Her family was the center of her world, and she took great pride in each generation that followed her.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin and Ruth (Skaggs) Guthrie; her sister, Leona Chrisman; her brother, Lonnie Guthrie; and her great-grandchildren, Lacey Stephens and Kenzie Ford. Though her passing brings sorrow to those who loved her, her memory will remain a source of comfort and strength. She will be remembered for her loving heart, her kind words, and the generous way she lived her life.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, September, 14, 2026 at the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Homes. Billy Boyd will officiate. Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 pm on Sunday, September 13, 2026 at the funeral home. Family will receive friends at this time.
