(From Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home)Floyd E. (Gene) Milligan of Novelty, MO passed away September 8, 2026 at Baptist Homes of Shelbina after a lengthy illness.
He was born April 30, 1938, in Osborn, MO to Howard Charles (Hap) and Annie Laurie (Riley) Milligan.
Gene spent most of his life in the Hamilton, MO area. They moved to Novelty, MO in 2015. He was a 1956 graduate of Hamilton High School, received a BS in Ag Ed from MU in 1960 and a MS from NWMSU in 1972.
He taught Vocational Ag for 33 years beginning at Stella, MO, then Albany, MO and retired from Hamilton, MO after 20 years in 1993. He mentored many students over the years and tried to keep track of them after they left his program. He held many memberships and positions in various education and agriculture organizations over the years.
December 6, 1975, he married Joyce Edgar. She survives of the home. He is also survived by daughters Jenny and Ben Bradley of Novelty, MO, Brenda and Kevin Bolton of Fayetteville, NC and son David and Patricia Milligan of Texas. He is survived by five grandchildren: Pete Bradley, Bailey and Ashley Bolton, Riley Milligan Judd and Erin Milligan. Also surviving are Karen Stigall, sister-in-law, Gary Blankenship, brother-in-law, and nephew, Ryan and Meg and Connor Blankenship.
Per Gene’s wishes, there will be graveside services held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 12, 2026, at the Locust Hill Cemetery on Rt. A west of Novelty, MO.
There will be no visitation. Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, MO is assisting the family with arrangements.
In lieu of flowers Gene requested Memorials to the Locust Hill Cemetery at Novelty, MO or the Highland Cemetery at Hamilton, MO. Memorials may be left at or mailed to Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1, Edina, MO 63537 or Joyce Milligan, 49022 Locust Hill St., Novelty, MO 63460.
