(From Fohn Funeral Home)Lori Renee Marrs, age 60, of Cassville, Missouri, passed away Saturday, September 12, 2026 at Cox Medical Center South in Springfield, Missouri.
She was born January 21, 1966 at Baptist Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of Charles and Carolyn (Cottrell) Marrs. On July 28, 1990 she was united in marriage to Jack Mattingly, from this union three children were born, Joshua Lee Mattingly and wife Tayshia of Stella, Missouri, Sarah Grace Mattingly, and Rachel Elizabeth Mattingly both of Cassville, Missouri. Also surviving are her parents, Charles and Carolyn Marrs of Cassville, Missouri; younger sister, Linda Patterson and husband Charles of Exeter, Missouri; nephew, Cooper Patterson and wife Cameron of Pea Ridge, Arkansas, and niece, Rebecca Patterson of Exeter, Missouri.
Lori was a breast cancer survivor, and she spent several years fighting to survive. She was one of the strongest people out there. She also worked as a chef for many years, there was nothing she couldn’t make into an amazing meal. She made a really good green bean casserole and white chicken chili. Lori had always had a love of animals from a young age. She was always taking in strays, dogs or cats, it didn’t matter. Her dream was to someday have enough space to have many, many animals, they held a special place in her heart.
She spent most of her life in the Cassville area and loved hunting and being outdoors. Lori was employed by Walmart where she loved her customers, but her greatest love was being at home where her goats and her beloved forever companion Echo, her Corgi were. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Exeter and will be missed by co-workers, friends, and most of all her family. Lori was a fierce protector of those she loved and was never afraid to speak her mind. She was an organ doner and helped people to the very end.
Preceding her in death were her grandparents, Tom and Doris Marrs and Joseph and Ena Cottrell.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, September 16, 2026 at Washburn Prairie Cemetery in Washburn, Missouri, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Pastor Jerry Yarnall will conduct the services.
