(From Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home)Brent Moray McCune, age 79, of Mt. Vernon, Missouri, passed away at 4:15 a.m. on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at the Mt. Vernon Place Care Center. He was born March 12, 1947, in Springfield, Missouri, the son of Brent Hubert and Kathleen (Chavose) McCune.
Brent was a 1965 graduate of Manteca High School, in Manteca, California. He was the owner of Denver Diesel Injection in Aurora, Colorado. He started Powerlifting at the age of 40 and was inducted into the Powerlifting Hall of Fame. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Mt. Vernon, Missouri.
On May 20, 1989, he married Beverly Ann Watson, in Southern California.
Brent is survived by his wife of 37 years, Beverly; one sister, Barbara McCune of Mt. Vernon, Missouri; one brother, Ken McCune and his wife, Shyre, of Holts Summit, Missouri; three stepchildren, Janell (Greg) Cole, of Lake Elsinore, California, Robert Weitlauf of Wildomar, California and Tracy (Doug) Brown of Aurora, Colorado; four granddaughters; eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Brent was preceded in death by is parents, Brent and Kathleen McCune and his sister and her husband, Kay and Ronnie Lincoln.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon, Missouri.
