Jeff Mittag

Jeffrey Michael (Jeff) Mittag, 67 passed away peacefully on September 13, 2026 in Noel, MO. Jeff was born February 12, 1959 to Charles and Velma Jean (Shipler) Mittag in Olathe, KS where his father was stationed with the U.S. Navy at the time.

Jeff was a resident of Goodman, MO for most of his life. He was a graduate of Neosho High School and continued his education at Crowder College. He worked as an OTR truck driver, owner/operator at FedEx Ground and more recently at Ragland Feed Mill until he retired in 2023. 

Jeff loved the outdoors. He loved hiking and camping. He could often be found snuggled up around a campfire with the night skies and stars above. He had a magnificent garden and enjoyed his time there. It was much too large for him to eat and can for himself so he shared as much with others as they would take. You could often find him with a fishing pole in his hand and he loved kayaking with his family. Jeff was an avid reader. He loved to learn about history and he loved to travel with family and share historic facts with his grandchildren on the many trips they shared together. He thoroughly enjoyed watching his grandchildren play their respective sports.

Family was an important part of Jeff’s life. He was a proud father and grandfather and treasured the time he spent with his 5 children and 15 grandchildren.

Jeff will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his hard-working nature, love of the outdoors, and his willingness to help others. He enjoyed life, valued his family, and made an impact on everyone around him. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all of those who knew him.

Jeff was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Jean Mittag, one sister, Karen Mittag and one sister-in-law Teresa Mittag.

He is survived by his son, Jeffrey Mittag, his spouse, Amber Mittag, and their children, Parker Mittag and McKenna Mittag, all of Neosho, MO; his son, Levi Mittag, and his daughter, Aliyah Mittag; his daughter, Tabitha Mittag, her spouse, Wayne Snyder, and their children, Kaytlyn Mittag; Takasaki, Japan, Zachary Snyder, Zoey Snyder, and Kyle Snyder, of Carl Junction, MO; his daughter, Megan Dee, her spouse, Natalie Dee, and their children, Turner Dittmer, Lilly Dittmer, Weston Ellison, and Waylon Dee, all of Gilbert, AZ; and his daughter, April Gawith, her spouse, Joe Gawith, and their children, Caden Gawith, Laramie Gawith, Harper Gawith, and Charlie Gawith, all of Noel, MO.

Celebration of Jeff’s Life will be held on September 27th from 5pm-7pm at Hickory Creek Park in Neosho, MO. Bring a chair and a fishing pole and share some of the outdoors that Jeff cherished.
