Sue Eckels

Sue Eckels, 85, of Aurora, MO, died September 16, 2026. She was born October 6, 1940, in Washington, MO. Sue graduated from Aurora High School and married Tom Eckels, with whom she shared 68 years of marriage.

Sue was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a Christian, a homemaker, retired from Aurora Public Schools, and was an active member of Southside Baptist Church. She had a servant’s heart and actively showed God’s love and grace to many throughout her life.

Sue is survived by her husband, Tom Eckels; three children: daughter Melanie Selvey and her husband, Tim; son Paul Eckels and his wife, Dianne; and son Dan Eckels and his wife, Nancy; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Lou Wimmer; her sisters Nancy Ensell and Eileen McCoy; and her brother David Wimmer.

A Celebration of Life memorial and reception will be held Saturday, October 10, 2026 at 10am - 12pm at Southside Baptist Church, 412 W. Hadley, Aurora, MO 65605.
